Starmer has pledged £11m in humanitarian aid to a prescribed terrorist group.

Sir Keir Starmer is on a trip to the Middle East and has used it to announce funding to support Syria following the fall of the Assad regime.

The UK will commit £11m in additional humanitarian aid, as the world waits to see how the country will move on from decades of dictatorship.

No doubt the shivering pensioners who've lost their Winter fuel payment will feel a little warmer knowing that.

Bwahahaha! Did you hear what happened in Afghanistan? Same will happen in Syria.
Make no mistake, I'm not sticking up for Assad..... but sometimes better the devil you know in these middle east and African countries. There's already in fighting for power between at least 9 factions so I understand from news reports.
The Middle East is about to erupt and will make Putin going into the Ukraine look like a picnic.
I'll admit if I get proven wrong, but I don't think I will be given what we know this far.
The MIC has to keep rolling...... it's what makes the world go round for the elites.

Rodney has said there is "no decision is pending on this" when asked about removing Hayat Tahrir al Sham from the proscribed terrorist list so yeah he's giving Millions of tax payers money to terrorists ... what a plonker.

Sir Keir Starmer has said it is "too early" to decide whether to remove a leading Syrian rebel group from the government's proscribed terrorist list following its victory over Bashar al Assad's forces.

The prime minister said "no decision is pending on this" when asked about the potential move following the defeat Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS) inflicted on the decades-long Assad regime.

It comes after Sir Keir announced a further £11m in humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable in Syria following the events over the weekend, including the hundreds of thousands who have been displaced in the conflict.

Never in all my days did I think I'd see a government as incompetent as this one ... and I remember John Major !

I mean, are we worried about this now? A lot of the people who will be upset about this totally support sending aid to Palestinian terrorists.

It only took 10 days...

Does anyone really believe that?

Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham met with Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, according to video distributed in an apparent attempt to demonstrate an orderly transfer of power after 13 years of civil war.

www.nbcnews.com...

Also, can anyone elaborate on who the
Pentagon and the CIA will be funding
and backing now, since the "war" is over?

In Syria, militias armed by the Pentagon fight those armed by the CIA

Or, if one would rather this version....

Are CIA-backed Syrian Rebels Really Fighting Pentagon-backed Syrian Rebels?

There might be somehing coming for Iran here. IDF tanks near to damascus. Maybe the air raids are normal and they are, yet I can remember Bibi or one of the top brass in Israel saying something about Iran and change coming to them sooner than later. Almost like a prophetic warning. The way things unravelled so fast in Syria following the defeat of Hezbollah there might well be something coming to Iran soon.

whether they might now hold proper elections and hopefully replace a particularly brutal Dictatorship with something resembling a democracy.

LMAO, this is positive proof you lead a rich and full fantasy life.
Dream on!

Seriously Carpy, there wont be anything peacful or democratic moving forwards in Syria.
When our head of MI6 is warning us of a spike in IS attacks, even our own intelligence agency know this is not going to be good.
As to Starmer handing over £11 million to a recognised terrorist organisation..... it beggar's belief when loads of other EU countries are already making arrangements to deport Syrian's and close their borders to any coming in.... and that includes refugees! I saw on the news earlier today that they have already started rounding up Christians in the country.... you don't need me to tell you what their fate will be!
I know you've heard the saying prepare for the worst and hope for the best..... I think you have that back to front or you are being deliberately contrary to hear your own voice in the wilderness.

Rodney handing over that 11 million is almost treasonous to the security of British people.... he's far worse than a plonker and needs to go!
I saw all the celebrations by Syrian's up and down this country last night. I get it, they are glad Assad has gone. But how long will it be before they start turning on Christians in this country as their 'heroes' in Damascus have already started doing with reports coming out of Syria?

Some of those groups that some are cheering used to be aligned with Al queda and ISIS.

If you dont worship the way they do and how they want you to, people are going to have a tough go.

Money and support needs to go to the Kurds over there, they are the closest to western beliefs and most likely to take a live and let live approach with people that worship differently.

I haven't heard about Christians being rounded up?

You may be right, I just don't know.

I'd just like there to be some hope, is all.

I'm not predicting anything.

I don't do Instagram. Seems has happened in the past. But their plight seems uncertain.

Did a search, nothing up to date.

www.al-monitor.com...

"HTS leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, who visited Aleppo's landmark citadel on Wednesday, urged his fighters to "calm the concerns of our people, from all communities", in a statement on Telegram.

"Aleppo has always been a meeting point for civilisations and cultures, and it will remain so, with a long history of cultural and religious diversity," he said.

- 'Here to help us' -

Jolani also called on the residents of Mahardeh, a predominantly Christian town in central Syria, not to flee as his fighters attacked the nearby city of Hama.

"We will ensure your protection and safeguard your property," he said in a statement."

Who knows how this might pan out though?

I certainly don't know.

You don't have to 'do' instagram, the link will open up the video for you. At least Christians were safe under Assad, for all his other faults. Granted, some Christians didn't like Assad.

Church leaders of various denominations appealed for international protection for Christian communities in Syria as the rebel offensive rapidly accelerated last week, culminating in the fall of President Bashar al Assad’s regime.

Christians left in fear by fall of Assad
If Christians start getting persecuted over there, you can bet your bottom dollar we'll see it happening here, just like Sir Richard Moore head of MI6 and previously Ambassador to Turkey has warned us.

Safe under Assad?

From your source:

'On 1 December a missile strike by Assad’s Russian allies damaged the Holy Land College in Aleppo, operated by the Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land."

I watched the Instagram vid. What are we watching?

Are they Christians?

Not supporting Islamists, just saying all we can do is wait and see.

Ill say one thing, looks like Israel has made certain it will be years before the new syrian govt can project any sort of power.

Those air strikes did some major damage.

I did hear that (rumor only) that assad asked israel to do the strikes.
