Better than nothing is not good enough. The Secretary of Defense exercises day to day control over the military branches and is second only to the POTUS in the chain of command. The SECDEF makes decisions on which weapon systems to purchase and prepares a 800 Billion dollar budget every year. In a nation of 335 million people, there is absolutely no reason to choose someone who will do a half-assed job.

FYI: Lloyd Austin was confirmed as Biden's Secretary of Defense on 1/22/2021..just 2 days after Biden was sworn in as President. The Senate confirmed him by a vote of 93 to 2.

President-elect Trump fully supports Hegseth. Try reading Trump's own words (he's not shy) on TruthSocial, instead of what 3rd parties are saying. Biden didn't speak directly to the country every day. But Trump does.

I know its hard after being treated like garbage for 4 years, but you will appreciate being respected once you've gotten over the shock of what you've just been through.

You do understand that Treason has a very high bar for evidence needed to convict;

"To convict someone of treason in the United States, the prosecution must present evidence of a clear "overt act" witnessed by two separate individuals, or a confession made by the defendant in open court"

That is a very high hurdle, easier to convict on Sedition Charges. Doesn't carry an automatic death sentence but much easier to get a guilty verdict.
