Thanks.
Yea, they do seem concerned.....I guess rightly so because if the lights are attached to something or a part of some "craft" it's huge! I wish I knew what part of the UK they're in.....I could search to see if others saw it.

The recent auroras, or reflections off a temperature inversion, would adequately explain the video.
I see nothing that would specifically imply intelligently controlled aircraft. It's most likely just a rare atmospheric effect.
Sounds like as good a guess as any.

...noctilucent clouds could be a possible explanation if the video was taken at high latitude pointing generally northward, and not too long after sundown.
I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Really weird when the video is zoomed in and you can see the lights pulsing.
No idea what it is, but sure not buying "cloud formation" with those lights.
I wouldn't rule out some kind of electrical activity in the atmosphere. In fact one thing that might support that hypothesis is the observation made by the photographer that they hear a crackling sound when they see the flashes. However, the flip side is, I thought the audio track was pretty decent but I couldn't hear this crackling sound the photographer said they could hear. However it was easy to hear the plane when they said they could hear the plane, so to me the crackling sound is unconfirmed at best.

Agreed.
Perhaps some form of ball lightning ?

Its not often I am truly stumped on these types of videos but I generally cannot come up with a viable explanation for this one.
Maybe some kind of atmospheric phenomena but god knows what !

Well, I won't debunk it as some CGI or other, but I will pose a question you should ask yourself. I pose this question often on this subject, and it is as follows:
Why would an alien race which has the technology to travel from far beyond our solar system:
a.) Have any need to come here to Earth? They clearly possess technology far beyond anything mankind has ever developed, why would they come visit us?
b.) Any resource Earth could have could easily be developed by such an advanced alien race, so what do they want?
c.) Given the limitations of mass traveling at velocities approaching the speed of light (which would be required for interstellar travel), why would such an alien race ever bring a physical craft to Earth?
Now, there are some potential counter-arguments to these questions, but if you really think about it they're pretty unlikely. For example, one might argue that said alien race jacked up their own planet and now need a new home. Okay, but if they have the technology to get here then surely they have the technology to fix whatever the problem is. Say a giant meteor hit their planet and blasted it into their Sun. Okay, but if that happened, then they wouldn't waste any time just coming to visit for a few minutes and then leaving; they'd straight up exterminate the human race and just take over. About any argument you can come up with as a reason for an alien race to visit Earth gets undone when you consider the technology they'd have to possess just to get here in the first place.
The distance problem alone is a huge obstacle, and not something easily circumvented with physics as we currently understand it. Even relatively "simple" things like colonizing another planet like Mars in any meaningful way presents almost unimaginable logistical challenges because of the distances involved. And that's our next door neighbor. Any other sentient beings would face similar challenges, but in their case they're not traveling to just another planet, but rather a whole other stellar solar system.
So, the way I look at the whole UFO / Alien thing is like this... If E.T. is ever going to come here, he already has, and very candidly, he may be living among us as I type this. We don't know it because he is too vastly different from us for us to recognize him. For that matter, he might not even know we exist either. Humans are selfish creatures; we tend to think E.T. is going to be like us, or just slightly different. Most people's minds will not allow them to perceive a race of beings so unimaginably different from us that we can't even comprehend their existence. The simple notion that E.T. even requires some sort of a craft (a UFO) to travel here inside of is a perfect example. When you consider it in that light, well, it's almost laughable.
S&F for your post, BTW.
