This article made me think of this thread. I haven't listened to the pod cast yet but even in the short interview some interesting, and very useful, points made.

But something is clearly happening and there are good reasons why we should all care about it. As Galloway puts it, “the most dangerous person in the world is a man that is broken and alone,” and society appears to be producing far too many of them.

When men don’t have the prospect of a romantic relationship, they come off the rails. They’re less likely to be employed, they’re more likely to engage in misogynistic content, and some men, without the prospect of a romantic relationship, become #ty citizens.

What does that mean for society? Because the thing that the most violent, unstable societies have in common is a disproportionate number of young men who feel as if they have nothing to lose because they have no economic or romantic opportunities.

Why?

Do you suddenly develop a hatred of men when you're not getting any? Or believe that women only have sex with women because they hate men?

People have a tendency to generalise. And, over dramatise.

All of us do it from time to time and on occasion and usually because we simply haven't bothered to think things through.

Apart from the fact that they are all men and are all guilty of raping Gisele Pelicot they have very little else in common. They come in all shapes and all sizes, aged from early 20s to 70s. Otherwise normal and respectible members of their communities.

In their defense many have claimed that they did not intend to rape Gisele Pelicot but that they didn't understand what consent was until they were imprisoned for rape.

I am going to repeat that, it's important.

They did not understand what consent was.

Well, they thought consent was when a husband said that you could have sex with their wife.

I don't know, that kind of made me hate men for a while. I didn't entirely mean it. I like any number of men very much, but still...

It's one thing to be protective and caring for a woman/girl, it's another thing when it's controlling and abusive.

Human relationships are never a perfect science, and relationships between Male/Female can work in a multitude of different ways, but with the recent legislation and States Rights concerning a certain "issue" regarding bodily autonomy, it's gotten quite complicated.

It was supposed to be safe, legal and RARE....but there were so many women/girls who were using abortion as the first resort instead of the last option for various disgusting reasons I won't go into here, that I'm sure even the doctors, nurses, secretaries and all those who handle such matters got a little overwhelmed with their clinics being treated like a rush at a fast food drive thru.

The statistics certainly don't support your beliefs.

People are disgusting, or at least can be. No shock there. Personally, I would rather that disgusting person aborted the fetus thereby ending the potential for suffering there.

Sex isn't the end all be all to existence.

For some, it's a compulsion and a way to feel self worth.

For others, it's a biochemical addiction to satisfy the pleasure principle.

For others, it's about power and control.

I don't hate men by any means, I just have a profound distaste for people who use sex (or their sex) as a weapon.

That's really the gist of my sentiment on the matter.

Sexual unions between people is a sharing of energies, a blending of mind, body and spirit....in consenting relationships, it's a beautiful thing. When one person forces themselves on another, it becomes about domination and power, and the other partner is reduced to an object.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who goes that route should buy a toy and leave decent people the hell alone.

I met a young mother recently who had been gang paped by 16 men, and she had a child by it.

None of them help provide for the child and she wasn't in good shape on the mental health front.

When it comes to violent rape, my sentiments are rather extreme as far as punishment goes, so for all things considered, I'll just end this post here.
