President-elect Trump confirmed Monday that he is planning to declare a national emergency and use the U.S. military to carry out mass deportations.
Why it matters: Trump made his promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants one of the cornerstones of his 2024 campaign, and his team has already begun strategizing how to carry its plan out.
A Truth Social post early Monday is the first time the president-elect has confirmed how his administration will execute the controversial plan.
Driving the news: Tom Fitton, the president of the conservative group Judicial Watch, posted on Truth Social earlier this month that Trump was "prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program."
Trump reposted Fitton's comment Monday with the caption, "TRUE!!"
The big picture: There are an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. Trump's mass deportations are expected to impact roughly 20 million families across the country.

Never minds the words being spoken. It ain't going to happen to the full extent of those words. The basic facts are that solid Americans are only producing a bit more that half of the babies required to carry on the nation (read that as economically). Business welcomes all of those new, active bodies but they would never say that out loud.
18 U.S. Code § 1385 - Use of Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force as posse comitatus
Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
Trump was elected by a landslide of Popular vote
A National Emergency would also enable American citizens to help with the round-up of illegal aliens. Thousands have already put their name on the volunteer roster.

US falls into several areas of decline
We would see a decline in US citizens losing out on jobs due to illegals coming in and doing them under the table
How many immigrants are in the U.S. labor force?
Over 30 million immigrants were in the U.S. workforce as of 2022, accounting for 18% of all U.S. workers.
Lawful immigrants made up the majority of the immigrant workforce at 22.2 million, representing about 13% of all workers.
An additional 8.3 million immigrant workers were unauthorized (about 5% of all workers). This is a notable increase over 2019, but about the same number as in 2007.
What kinds of jobs do immigrants in the U.S. hold?
By industry
When looking at industries – the kind of business that employers do – immigrants accounted for about a quarter of workers (27%) in the agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting sector in 2022. This was followed by construction (26%), according to a Center analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data. There are no major U.S. industries in which immigrants outnumber those born in the country.
The largest shares of unauthorized immigrant workers were in the construction (13%), agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting (12%), and leisure and hospitality (7%) industries in 2022. Legal immigrant workers accounted for the largest shares in the transportation and utilities (15%) and other services sectors (15%), followed by professional and business services (14%) and agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting sector (14%) – only slightly above their share of the overall workforce.
By occupation
When looking at occupations – the kind of work that people do on the job – immigrants overall accounted for the largest share of workers in farming, fishing and forestry (43%) in 2022, followed by construction and extraction (29%). Immigrants outnumbered U.S.-born workers in some jobs, such as manicurists/pedicurists (73%), taxi drivers (57%) and drywall/ceiling installers (53%).
Unauthorized immigrant workers accounted for the largest shares in occupations such as drywall/ceiling tile installers and tapers (33%), roofers (32%), painters and paperhangers (28%), other agricultural workers (24%), construction laborers (24%), and maids and housekeeping cleaners (24%). Legal immigrant workers accounted for the largest shares in jobs such as manicurists/pedicurists (60%), taxi drivers (44%), interpreters and translators (38%), other life scientists (35%), and physical scientists (34%).

Look up the data on American births/deaths and then reply with real words with substance.
Usually, you are less emotional about the situation. But, yep! Biden pulled a fast one an we simply thought of his efforts/non-efforts as simply to gain more voters for his party. But the whole line of thinking didn't stop there. So, really, the national emergency that could be is that all illegals are kicked out, and the US falls into several areas of decline with all manner of bussiness feeling the brunt of it.

The National Guard is controlled by the Governor of the state. Trump would have to federalize the guard. And he's going to federalize the guard to mass deport people? It will be a nightmare of dystopian proportion. Going door to door to round up illegal immigrants at gun point? For what? So that the crappy jobs that illegal immigrants do will be not taken by Americans?

The National Guard can be used in domestic emergencies. If Trump declares a state of emergency, they can be used to enforce laws just like they have been for riots, natural disasters, etc...
Just to be clear, Trump himself can only activate the Guard under very specific circumstances, but since most states are held by Republicans this time, I don't think he would have any trouble getting them to co operate.
