I got to thinking about tariffs
and decided to gather insight from my scrying stone.

Sure it isn't crystal or mirrored
but that is because the future is quite opaque.

Then the epiphany!
There is very little affordable domestic grown coffee!

As I contemplated the bleak future of double and triple priced coffee I decided:

So here's the thing: even the new gilded age White House will need to serve coffee.

And the new Prez will be in the position to exclude his chosen brand from the tariff, depending on which company is willing to give him the best percentage of their profits.

Totally legal because setting tariffs is an official act, and any profit for him can't be charged as criminal corruption.

And the profit should be yuge, since consumers will likely purchase the regular no tariff coffee rather than the double and triple priced coffee from the other companies.

When you think about it, somebody might just feel like throwing the tariffed coffees overboard before it can be unloaded.

In a festive, party sort of way.

Tariffs aren't just a revenue source, they're a tool. Trump is a deal maker and if it hurts Americans worse than taxes, he won't have done a very good job then. Everything can't be sourced in the USA so obviously, tariffs have to be used very strategically. Remember, one of his goals is to make/produce more within our borders, making America more independent, and of course make America GREAT again. Millions of broke, whiny people usually aren't considered all that great.

Besides, if you were a good little prepper, you would/will have stocked enough coffee to last a good 6 months or more.

10%, Trump isn't the big guy in this scenario. He's the guy. He gets it all. Why settle for just a pinch. Grab that puss......well, you know.

I can just see it now..."Liberal Lives Matter!"...signs on every light pole...Starbucks on fire in every city, nationwide...Kathy Griffin with a Trump skull, Rachel Maddow screaming at the sky, and The View's heads exploding, all on an endless loop on MSNBC...

...Oh, the Irony!

Haha caffeine addicts can suck it! I have not drank nary a single coffee in the last fifteen years and could not care less. A lot of people sure are going to be uptight though with having to deal with less of their preferred substance to use due to economic factors. Probably best to quickly legalize official pistol duels so as to help people calm down before a gunslinger challenges them for their crass behavior.

No, POTUS doesn't get the cash, directly.

With tariffs, what the POTUS does get to do is pick winners and losers. He can selectively apply tariffs on products favoring country A compared to country B. Country B can then decide to give Trump some land on which to build a golf course and a Trump tower, and country B will suddenly find its tariffs reduced or eliminated. Then country A will suddenly decide they have to find a way to get some cash to Trump so that they are not at an economic disadvantage relative to country B. This is why Trump wants to eliminate or reduce conventional taxes and put tariffs on almost everything. It will dramatically increase his ability to directly manipulate a larger fraction of the nation's economy for his personal gain. His low-information supporters will see their taxes reduced and continue to support him for that, and will ignore the fact that he is using his office for personal gain.

Or let's look at a deal that actually happened during the first Trump Administration. Before he became part of Trump's team, General Michael Flynn was involved in a business plan with other former Generals to make Saudi Arabia a nuclear power. A company called IP3 was formed to push the plan forward. When Flynn joined the Trump team in 2017, he immediately began pushing this plan. The plan involved transferring some sensitive US nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia so they could build their own nuclear reactors. By law, this technology is controlled by the Energy Department, so Trump got Energy Secretary Rick Perry to sign off on the technology transfer, while keeping the details hidden from public view. Then, a couple of months after Trump leaves office, his son-in-law suddenly gets a 2 Billion dollar sweetheart loan deal from Saudi Arabia to develop real estate over the objections of the Saudi investment advisers.

There is abundant evidence that Donald Trump is a career, lifetime, white collar criminal. He thinks like one, talks like one, and acts like one. At his age, he is certainly not going to change his modus operandi now. He has in the past and intends in the future to use his office for those purposes when he gets the opportunity.

Not exactly.

The stores will do the job of removing the unmovable stock of triple priced coffee from the shelves.

The dumpsters will have armed guards to prevent looters (dumpster divers) from acquiring free coffee. There may be Boston (dumpster) Massacres.

Why am I wading into this silly nonsense with people that have such limited information.

The people complaining most are the soy boys who want that extra shot of coffee and cream in their Starbucks

You pay too much for coffee already.

Buy green unroasted fresh coffee beans cheap and roast them yourself. Ive gotten top quality beans as cheap as 5-6 bucks a pound, that are better then anything at the store.

And I highly doubt that they are going to tariff every coffee producing company in the world. Thats foolish liberal nonsense.
