You didn't read very far.

I don't have to read very far at all to know that The UK has a constitution. Whereas you implied it didn't.

hasn't kept anyone out of prison who shouldn't be there, hasn't brought justice to those killed by the state either. It's worthless.

I suppose the same could be said for every other country in the world that has a constitution.

Sad but true.

No, they can't. Our legal system is enshrined in law.

However. Journalists being arrested in The US.

Attempts to criminalize routine journalistic activities.

truthout.org...

Alarming new data from the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker shows that less than halfway into 2024, the number of journalists arrested or detained so far this year is already more than the last two years combined.

Only as long as the ruling nutters havent elevated enough supporters to carry the vote.

Face it, we live in a country where you can be a paedo and stay out of gaol as long as you are posh enouigh, yet if you are poor you go to gaol for a tweet.

Whatever constitution we have allows that and it isnt worth 5h1t.

What is more outrageous is that if you are prosecuted by the State, and don't qualify for legal aid, pay privately
and

get not guilty, you can only recover your legal costs at paltry legal aid rates.

Now now. Was not too long ago you were all blowing each other up I recall. Now you get to deal with stabbings. We all have issues as countries and we should work to resolve not compete for who is worse.

don't answer the door if cops are knocking. if you already answered the door don't answer any questions.

if the cops had enough to arrest you they wouldn't be knocking they would've busted down your door at 3am.

That’s my opinion of the UK as it stands today. How I would accurately describe the lands and the people there in.

I haven't responded to this thread because I don't know the answer to the question posed in the subject line. I just don't.

When an American is arrested, by law, they must be told their crime, and then they must be read their "rights" (Miranda vs. Arizona from 1966).

You cannot be arrested, and/or jailed, without these two things. AND, you have the right to demand to be advised of these accusations. Some here have argued with me on this legality, but honestly I don't know where or what situation they've been in, but what I say here is the law. You MUST be told why you are being detained, AND, there is a big difference between..."detained for questioning"...and..."Under Arrest for a crime". There are specific rules for each one of these circumstances, and they are not remotely the same. (or even similar).

Now, people can be bullied by LEO's into believing one law is the same as the other, but they are absolutely not! If that person allows themselve's to be bullied into admitting guilt, then they are on their own. (and no attorney can save them).

I am not advocating criminal activity here, but it's completely different when you get accused of a crime you...A.) Didn't commit...or, B.) you didn't commit!

That is all.
