No, what gave him away to me was his reluctance to run in the first place in 2020. He was the last to declare. That and how the general democrat voters flocked to him for, as far as I could see, all he had going for him was his VP slot with Obama. And we know how that choice was made, It was made because Obama thought he needed an old white guy with a track record to balance out his act. Then Biden chose Harris, to balance out HIS act.

I see this as a big part of the problem. I keep seeing those on the left, admitting they have had issues with Biden all along, issues with Harris all along, but never said ONE DAMN THING about it. Only now that it's over do we hear these things. Can you imagine what kind of unity we could have had if those on the left at least acknowledged the things we on the right were seeing and pointing out?

If we can't honestly communicate, we can't have trust, and without trust, there is no hope for unity. It's time for some reflection.

I won't bother to explain and mess up your pie, but don't literally think of an "iron dome" as even close to what the term means in reference to Israel, etc.

We are going to believe what a Presidential candidate says in the last few days in a critical state while addressing an audience from an area he desperately needed to win the state?

A little history: Trump and Walker go way back to the USFL in the 1980s. Walker's signing with Trump's team legitimized his franchise and the league. Walker and Trump spent a lot of time together

Herschel Walker is from southern Georgia and is a legend in the state, Trump saying he would appoint Walker to any post was him saying this is my guy we are buds, all for the south Georgia audience to hopefully get the audience to vote for Trump.

Trump was talking about the brilliance of the Iron Dome and took it into and segue an awkward segue about appointing Walker to head it, to show how close he was and how much he trusted Walker

FWIW Walker has no interest in the "job" not to mention he was also awkwardly pushed by some to run for the Senate in the hopes he could beat the Democrats' power push. No more no less

It is Georgia it's how politics is done sometimes.

FWIW Trump won Georgia and FWIW he had a better Republican turnout in those southern Georgia counties

I'm just gonna remind you that when Reagan announced SDI, the "experts" laughed that off too and said any form of missile defense was a pipe dream.

If we had listened to them, Israel would be a smoking cinder right now and thousands of American troops in the ME would be dead.

Stealth was "impossible" according to some. So was the internet.

Academics get a lot of stuff like this wrong because intelligence isn't the only asset required for these kind of judgements. Imagination and vision is required too, and some academics seriously lack those.

When I was in the Air Force they brought Walker in to speak to us once, I forget why. He was super enthusiastic, very inspiring, and friendly. And he's smarter than the media gives him credit.

Everyone has weird things they say or believe in that these elitists can latch on to to make you look like an idiot.

Then they turn around and think men can get pregnant and they think they're smarter than you.

one likely to cost around a gazillion bucks

There's the rub.

Once the markets have stopped celebrating an orderly transition of power, anything could happen.

You do know SDI was shelved, don't you?

You do know that the concepts being investigated in SDI, that the experts said were not possible, became systems like Patriot, THAAD, and Iron Dome, don't you?

Except that not all missile defense is equal. Iron Dome isn't designed to stop the missiles that would be fired at us, so what's the point? Unless you believe Canada and Mexico are going to launch short range missiles and rockets at us. We don't need Iron Dome, we need improved GBI, which is being worked on. We need more launchers, which is being looked at. We need more THAAD and Aegis BMD, and improvements to them.

100%

Herschel Walker is a helluva guy my sister has classes with him at UGA. He is smart, humble, high character, and incredibly disciplined.

She said he didn't miss classes like some other players did, he didn't just attend classes he participated...

I got to ask what about drones, doesn't the Iron Dome help with those? and didn't Langley get buzzed by drones of unknown origin recently?

I dont think the likes of "Iron Dome" would be of much use against incoming ICBM or final-stage hypersonic cruise missiles.

But i can see Trump or Musk being up for weaponising space.

And a lot of the 1990s Starwars proposed systems might be somewhat more viable, such as "Brilliant Pebbles".

Lot of cash to be made from tax payers by arming the stratosphere

Indeed.

But there is a potential golden age for mankind on the horizon.

Should the militarization subsequently lead to the colonisation and industrialisation of low Earth orbit.

I mean it's not the best of ideas to arm space, but its on the cards, and is apt to happen at some point like it or lump it.

And it generally stands that if man can do a thing, they do, do that thing.

Especially if there is money and profit to be made.

Whether we like it or not its a fact that war and conflict are primary drivers of technological advancement.
And so its inevitable that 'space' will be weaponised and developed.

If we can only get over man's seemingly innate desire to control, manipulate and exploit each other then a truly glorious future could lie ahead for the human species.

Sent you a PM mate, not sure if you've seen it.

I wouldn't be surprised if space is already "armed".

I would be surprised if it wasn't.
