About that ''Iron Dome''

Our incoming president has promised to built an ''Iron Dome'' across the US to prevent incoming missiles from striking US cities and infrastructure. Like the missile defense system protecting Israel. The US though is a zillion times larger than Israel and the missile defense system used there is for short range missiles, not the inter-continental missiles that might threaten the US.

thehill.com...

This is a fine sounding project, one likely to cost around a gazillion bucks but one certainly worth considering. After all, the citizens of the USA do need protections in this new world of international threats. For such an expensive project we will need to have the best and brightest working to develop and construct it. As and rightly so, the once and future president has promised it should all be made in America by Americans.

To head this intricate and high tech project our once and future president is suggesting an able and competent leader who he believes is up to this daunting task, Hershel Walker.

Trump, who spoke after Walker, said if elected, he would “build a missile defense shield all made in the USA,” and “put Herschel Walker in charge of that little sucker.”

We all remember Walker of course and his failed bid for Senate and his fatherhood of children by a variety of women as well as his other accomplishments.

Walker spent 12 seasons in the NFL beginning in the late 1980s before retiring and pursuing business ventures in food processing, with no experience in missile defense or national security.
Walker’s campaign, however, was plagued by controversies and baffling and false statements. He mistakenly said there were 52 states, falsely claimed he was once an FBI agent, and lied about graduating from the University of Georgia, when in reality he had left to play professional football and did not complete his degree.

Obviously, his children with other women destroys his ability to do anything, so he really should be placed in a cage and fed daily until his demise. I hear Peanut the squirrel's cage is free now. And Terry, you are welcome. If not for all of us who voted to make Trump the 47th president, you would sound totally unhinged with your daily "trump is mean and orange" rants. Now it just looks a tad but hurt, rather than foaming at the mouth TDS. GO get em tiger.

well now hold on there a minute chief. The orange tint seems to have faded over the years. That said, we can give Terry a little bit of a break until the tweets start.

We gave him the illusion of sanity. He should be thankful.

and he will always be orange to me.

Well gee dude, thanks for the continuing condescension though I did note a smidge of compassion along with it. Say it ain't so. However you failed to reckon to the point that he has made a campaign promise that is entirely over the hill ridiculous, that is unless you choose to believe it. It's so off the charts that it almost if not for sure serves as a benchmark upon which to evaluate his entire scope of promises.

But to the point, can you see Walker heading a program of this magnitude. If not, what excuse to have make for Trump promising it?

I really don't know what to think until it happens. Not sure if you are aware, but Trump won't be sworn in until mid January. He really can't start on things like this until then. So you have time to work yourself up into quite a lather. Just pace yourself. It's a long 4 years.

And don't forget when talking campaign promises, Harris was going to reduce prices at the grocery by magic or sorcery. She claimed she could do it, but never mentioned how. Talk about wild campaign promises. Take two advil for severe TDS. It keeps the swelling down. I'm here for you if you need to vent.

As I thought, you have nothing to say about one of his campaign promises. A promise outlandish as it is yet still is a promise made to get people to vote for him. So how long should we wait after he is sworn in to make his presidential appointment. A week, month? A year? Will he just make another promise for his kid to work on in twenty years?

Good information Metal, thank you for the information. I see that this dome might now come under the auspicis of the Space Command rather than the Air Command. Trump initiated the Space Command and Biden made this move to put missile defense under the Space Command.

I wonder how all these folks will like having Walker as their commander.

Terry, I'll make you a promise. If I can communicate with you in 4 years, and Trump became a dictator, or enacted project 2025, or appoint Hearshal Walker to head the mission to mars or any other official space task, I'll apologize to you and all. But I just can't get angry about something that hasn't happened. If you wish to hold all politicians to their campaign promises, be sure you include everyone. All of them. Even the one's on your side. Yea, them.

There is no way they're going to build an Iron Dome system around the US, because it's useless. Iron Dome doesn't stop ICBMs, and no one is going to be firing missiles at us that Iron Dome is designed to stop. We already have GBI, which is getting a new kill vehicle and sensor system. They're talking about installing a new set of interceptors on the East Coast to expand coverage, but we don't need Iron Dome.

You should gather up your social justice warriors and protest his appointment just in case these folks are against working for Walker. Like a pre-emtive strike. If you like, I can make you a sign.
