Here's a map of NY's 2016 election results. Please take note that only a few counties (you'll notice they generally include a garbage bag city) vote blue. The county this happened in was 57%+ Trump. Please also note only 38% of the population of a rather large state are outside of New York Sh!try.

I wish for the day people are able to distinguish between NYS and NYC almost as much as I wish for the day we remove that cancerous hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a trainwreck wart from our ass.

That was interesting, so is the dystopian authority that killed the animals only at the jurisdiction of a county level then?

Could the animals have possibly been given a special license to keep them (under strict conditions), or rehomed in a sanctuary etc, if these people had just lived in the next county over then?

I'd be questioning the type of place I'm being governed in big time, if this story is all down to local elected officials...it really does remind me of British local authorities who were drunk on devolved emergency powers during 2020/21 covid!😱🤬

I don't think that account is related to the animals owners. It looks like she was just sharing one of the videos.

They made a statement earlier that specifically said they had no political affiliation.

I think it's just typical bureaucratic overreach.

Allegedly some of the agents were out of Albany, more than 2 hours away from the house.

The idea that State agencies are willing to spend that much time and recourses while ignoring 10s of thousands of illegal aliens is disgusting.

My guess there is more to this story.......

Maybe the cops had a personal issue with this guy. Perhaps they suspected him of another crime and had people place fake complaints.

Regardless, it's too bad taxpayers are going to pay the lawsuit. This is one of those instances the cops should be held personally responsible.

No. He was posting P'Nut to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok and people on the internet reported him for having wildlife without a permit.

This is disguising.

Hopefully the internet Karens are proud of their accomplishment.

We had a handicapped squirrel when I was a kid.

Chappy lived in a cage my dad built out of the top and bottom sections of an oil barrel and a roll of mink wire with a tree inside that got changed once a week.

He roamed outside in the daytime and came back into the porch at night to be let into his cage.

He lived to a ripe old age.

It was all on the lowdown.

First, it's Peanut! Next, it's your wife and kids.

How do the Kamala supporters feel about that?

Are you okay with it, because it's not you or your family?

And yall call us Nazis?

If you live in the U.S. and you vote Kamala, you are okay with killing your pets and your kids. That's the bottom line.

You all are Evil.

This is not normal & makes me extremely sad. I'm a retired Lic Vet Tech from CA & not only volunteered t a lovely place in Topanga Canyon for 4.5 yrs where we had exotics of all kinds from a small owl, red tailed hawk, wolf, mountain lions, servals, & much more that we took out for educational programs.
I was given a Squirrel from a squirrel rescue that could not be rehab for released. He was very young, had fallen from a tree & had suffered crushed nose turbinates . Due to a long recovery time he was unreleaseable.
The Vet at school neutered hi. for me because he was unreleasable & they can become aggressive during sexual maturity & he was going to be my educational partner. I didnt need a permit because I was covered under the place Iwhere I volunteered.
Grey squirrrels live up to 13 yrs in captivity, in the wild neighborhoods 2-4yrs & remote areas 5-7 yrs.
I also worked the renowned Wildlife Way Station so I worked with so many exotics & LOVED IT!!!
Never heard of a rabid squirrel...also FYI possums do not carry rabies in the U.S.

That racoon in this story obviously is NOT rabid...So this is BS & FYI the only way to test for rabies (unless things have changed) is euthanize & cut the head off & send to a lab because it's the brain tissue that gets tested. I have worked with racoons & much more...been bitten by a skunk through leather welding gloves & another young one sprayed me face to the corner of mouth...that was the worst cause it.was an orange colored oily substance that doesn't wash off & skunks never smelled the same for years.
Iove skunks! They are extremely clean, smart, use a litter box & walk on a lead like a dog.

So yes the downfall for this could possibly be due to posting on internet...however many people that rescue animals need help with feeding & shelter cost, therefore showing cute pbotos & videos may help with donations? Just a thought...
However these actions by authorities were So Bloody Wrong!!! If they were truly worried about rabies, the animals could have been quaratined...cause that would be the normal procedure.

Cheers
Ektar

First, it's Peanut! Next, it's your wife and kids.

New York's Law, McKinney's E. C. L. § 11-0501 to 11-0540 specifically applies to non-human animals. So no. Wife and kids are not going to be seized by state or county animal control.

Are you okay with it, because it's not you or your family?

I am okay with it. According to reports, Longo moved to New York from Connecticut in 2023. According to § 11-0512 section 3, He had 6 months to get Peanut licensed.

Having failed to license the animal, it was lawfully seized and euthanized in accordance with section 7 of § 11-0512.

If it were me and my family, we would have licensed the animal before exploiting it on social media for money.

You all are Evil.

Most of us had nothing to do with writing or enforcing the law.

Reference: § 11-0512. Possession, sale, barter, transfer, exchange and import of wild animals as pets prohibited

Even with a story like this, we see people deflecting and swaying. Notice how they continue to emphasize away from the fact these animals were senselessly killed for no reason, and point to the victim(s) as the problem. 🦝️😬😾

I came across an article that claimed that as the animals were being removed from the residence that a animal control handler was bitten, and they had to put Fred and Peanut down to rule out rabies, but I'm afraid I don't remember the source.

It's probably likely they were rough with the animals, who were no doubt unnerved and disoriented by the scene unfolding in their normally peaceful abode, and the fact that whomever was in charge of removing the animals wasn't properly gloved raises some suspicions about the veracity of the responding agency.

The more I look into this story the angrier I become.

It’s sad, poor little Peanut.

He did live a good life though, 6 years is around the average life span of a squirrel in the wild right? Plus they where keeping him illegally and posting about it on the internet.

Slow news day I guess.

Ah, that explains why animals entering the UK from high risk rabies nations, have to stay in 3-4 months of expensive quarantine then...so healthy animals are not needlessly killed.

The more I've read about this story though, the more I'm convinced that the animals were killed NOT for human safety reasons, NOT for animal welfare reasons, but TOTALLY for "You must comply with authority" reasons.

This would massively effect my voting intentions if I lived in that local authority. But if that "You must comply or we kill" attitude was the norm there...I'd probably have moved long ago - I'd definitely have crossed swords with that county's brown shirts over something...and I imagine they were total despots during 2020/21 covid emergency rules!!!😱

Chemung County has a Republican Executive and 13 of its 15 Legislators are Republican.

Perhaps somebody who checked with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and didn't find P’Nuts Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary to be accredited.

It is possible that it is a money making scam. Further investigation may be warranted.

I won't be sending a donation.

on that note,

On Friday, Congressman Nick Langworthy(R) also spoke out on X, formerly known as Twitter. His statement is as follows.

“I join many of my constituents and people around the country who have contacted my office today, angry and demanding answers from Governor Kathy Hochul's Department of Environmental Conservation. Reports are that following their unannounced raid of a home in Chemung County, the DEC Agents have gone ahead and unnecessarily killed their animals. The pet owner has not been afforded due process, and now his pets are dead.

This action comes today as reports have emerged of an illegal immigrant raping a five-year-old on Long Island. This demonstrates the Hochul Administration's deranged level of misguided priorities. In New York State, we have sanctuaries for illegal immigrants while innocent pets are killed.

I demand answers and will push until the administration comes clean.
