Why would they let that comedian make that joke about Porto Rico was that sabotage ?

I’ve listened to his podcast off an on for many years now.

He’s been pretty clear he leans right… but I’m not sure if he did this maliciously in the case of Trump.

At the end of the day, comedians are a wild card. He may have done this to slight Trump, he may have thought this would boost his comedic career, or he may have just been trying to be edgy and fell flat.

Hard to tell.

Looking back, I think considering the timetable, he may have notice Kh pandering to the Puerto Rican vote, but it was in poor judgement since she only made the comments Sunday morning so the campaign people didn’t have time to vet his jokes. He should really apologize to the Trump campaign, the Puerto Rican community, and to the American people( in case we lose our country to a bunch of Communists over this.)

Puerto Rico as a territory has no vote. They can vote in primaries, but not the presidential election.

If they have residency in a state, they can vote, but make up about 2% of the population (stateside). If they’re like other demographics, that means less than 1% will vote. Usually presidential elections are around 50%~ of eligible voters, and we have to assume some portion of that 2% aren’t of age.

I don't get it. Trump called the United States of America the world's trash can, and people are upset that a comedian trashed Puerto Rico? It's such a trite trope!

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday the US is “like a garbage can for the world” as he railed against illegal immigration at a campaign rally in Arizona.

“We’re a dumping ground. We’re like a garbage can for the world. That’s what’s happened,” Trump said at the event in Tempe, as he criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the border.

I also wish things did not become so polarized but they have and there is very little common ground. Taxes on tips is all I can think of off the top of my head. With all the back and forth and vitriol it is hard to discuss the real issues and strategy for making our country better for our countrymen. We need less taxes, a closed border which makes sure immigrants are making our country better and trade policies that don't have the country, our country, with the most innovation and largest and strongest marketplace losing hundred's of billions of dollars annually in trade deals. These three issues must be corrected and that is not hyperbole. Companies are leaving our country for a lower tax lower wage economic environment and we need to stop that from happening too. Instead of looking for more tax revenue how about we stop spending so much? Our government pays themselves too much and gives away too much and is always talking about who needs to pay more taxes??? WTF is that?

You're proud that Democrat open border policies have unleashed a surge in gang violence on the working class and want to joke about it.

Can't say I'm shocked, given your history.

Maybe most of our voters will be smarter than you. I can only hope.

The Constitution says anyone who steps foot on US soil has right to due process.

Illegal activity is punishable by due process, not protected. 😎

That has to be determined.

Due process applies to being on US soil — legally or not.

That's a dangerous precidence and would clog up the courts and detention centers if followed literally.

Seriously.

We'd have to wall ourselves in like a Federal Prison and that's a lot of deterrants that would need to take into consideration.

(tunnelers, flyovers)

I get what your getting at but I'm worried about dangerous carrer criminals, rapists and other ne'er do wells taking advantage of these lax loopholes and the damage they can do before they're caught and taken into custody.

your TDS is flaring up again. In context of what he was saying, (something the left isn't mentally capable of grasping) he is talking about other countries emptying their prisons and mental wards, and sending those folks here. And why wouldn't they. If they keep them there, they have to feed, house, cloth, and care for them. If they send them here, they no longer have to deal with them at all. This was sad and pathetic even for you.

As someone who believes income tax has gotten severely bastardized since it’s widespread implementation during WWII, I agree.

But addressing taxes first is putting the cart before the horse IMO.

We have to cut spending first, then talk about taxes. 13% of federal spending in 2024 was towards interest payments, the third largest spending category behind defense.

Cutting taxes is popular to run on, but if you do it without balancing the budget, we’ll just end up paying more later on.

As far as not taxing tips, I’m unpopular and don’t like the premise. Aside from me having to pay income on a lot of things I don’t want to, making tips tax exempt would only incentivize tip culture spreading to even more businesses I don’t want to see it.

I see tip prompts popping up at cashiers every once in a while now. Who am I tipping for me picking out my goods and just coming up for the transaction?

I do want to see real productive tax and spending reform, but I’ll be honest as a perceived realist, my expectations are low.

Not sure if that was a jab at me but Trump did talk about garbage low quality goods coming into this country - The border however needs to be closed if they are here sucking up Resorces and illegal they should be deported, I know plenty of people that came here the right way got a green card and did it the correct way .
