I seen what you mean about Zephyrhills being flooded bad. We are working by the new two rivers development, it's in pretty good shape. But on the way to 75 we can see the river basin has still not drained. Land we were walking on dry just weeks ago is still waist deep in water . Good luck to all, despite the most western part of our neighborhood being submerged, we got blessed and were spared any flooding. Cannot say the same for some of my friends, who's homes have been gutted and are now sitting on the street/curb as debris waiting for hauling. Even though we were blessed and thankful, too many people lost it all. Thankfully travel and business have mostly returned to normal. It is almost surreal to just go about our days while some streets are littered with the wasted contents of people's homes. I pray for all who suffered from these storms.a reply to: Irishhaf

Was without power for a week. Been grilling food outside non stop trying to salvage what the kitchen managed to save with many bags of ice. Pray for those who's homes' contents are currently on the streets wIting for debris hauling. They did not deserve this.

Glad yall weathered it well, tree trimmers that were on call for the insurance company were out cleaning up his neighborhood yesterday even with the water in the area so it must be draining somewhat.

chancy road between Morris bridge and 301 has got to be a mess, I saw those houses on the gulf side of chancy flood a few times growing up, id wager many of them will be a total loss this time around.

eta: Funny thing Im about to get an Alaska equivalent so I wont be able to fly down even if the water drains away, every hour the last 2 days forecast looks worse and worse for next week. we are up to 10 inches snow/sleet in the valley and up to 20 inches at higher elevation, with somewhere between 35 and 50 mph gusts.

Its bad enough the USAF base I work on will probably close mon and tues at least and my boss already told me to telework if I dont think the drive is safe for those two days.

My kids school (a place that does outdoors recess till -20F) also is on the edge of closing.

Y'all some tough bastards to tolerate such extreme cold! I was wearing a jacket in the fifties just Wednesday. In love my warm weather, but I also wish we could play in snow. It is what it is though.

Back at you, never realized while I lived in Florida how the rest of the world views a hurricane, to me it just mean a few days hanging out at home.

Sitting here this morning watching the snow fall it dawned on me that I have lived in hurricane alley, tornado alley, and now I am 8 hours drive in the summer from the artic circle.

I might be broken.
