So, you haven't been to Russia, but because of Western narratives you compare it to China. Come to Russia. Russia is not China. Everything is different there.

Yes, I have not been to America. They will not let me in there. They did not let me in before, because in 2015 I was listed on the Ukrainian website Myrotvorets. And they will not let me in now. But you can easily go to Russia. And where is there more freedom?

It's been 10 years since I was in Russia, I don't think it is much different today in a positive way.

No need to think. Just come and see for yourself.

A local person made it from Russia just after the Cold War. They love to talk about the crappy Russian computers and the cardboard/plywood missiles and military mockups used for parades.

They don’t think much has changed.

Care to comment on your advanced technology?

The first Russian photolithography tool, capable of producing chips with a 350 nm process technology or thicker, has been built in Russia and is undergoing testing in Zelenograd. This mature technology is currently used for some automotive and power chips, though it could also be used for military equipment. We estimate that the new piece of equipment is about 30 years behind the industry.

The west is manufacturing chips at 2nm, compare that with the Russian 350nm. I think it's a tad behind, don't you?

Seems people are still lost in the sauce about meaning of words and definition of said words. Capitalism is not a form of government, never was and never can be. Because words;

Capitalism | Definition, Characteristics, History ...
www.britannica.com...
Capitalism is a widely adopted economic system in which there is private ownership of the means of production. Modern capitalist systems usually include a market-oriented economy, in which the production and pricing of goods, as well as the income of individuals, are dictated to a greater extent by market forces resulting from interactions between private businesses and individuals...

What we have here is a failure to communicate. It's simple.

Socialism | Definition, History, Types, Examples, & Facts ...
www.britannica.com...
Socialism, social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to socialism, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it.

In other words, you don't own it, Government does.
You will own nothing and pretend to be happy...

I agree with you. The reality is that the West used to be a beacon of capitalism with an inviolable right to private property. Now the West has slid not even to socialism, but to communism, where there is absolutely no right to private property. On the contrary, private property rights prevail in Russia and China. The difference between them is that in China the Communist Party rules ideologically and historically, and corrupt officials and fraudsters are executed en masse. In Russia, the Communist Party is only a small parliamentary party, and the most prominent members of the Communist Party of Russia are just prominent capitalists. And in Russia they are not shot for corruption and fraud, but simply imprisoned for long terms.

It's funny, I didn't think a totalitarian Russian government were seen as capitalists, as the Russian state can decide at the drop of a hat who can own what?

That, again, simply isn't true.

Unless they are a corrupt President for life?

Thing is, some us remember what the West was like before Reagan and Thatcher dismantled the post-war political consensus.

We have nothing like socialism.

Yes, we have a mixed economy.

Yes, we still have some social protections.

But socialism? Nah.

And communism? Ridiculous.

Your point about Russia and China is far more valid. China has tightly managed its transformation instead of drunkenly deregulating. Russia deregulated like a sailor in a brothel on New Years Eve. That's why corrupt businessmen are jailed only if they don't pay protection money to Putin.

That is, the complete requisition of capital and any property solely on the basis of nationality and political motives is now called not robbery, but something else?
It is not for nothing that other countries have begun to withdraw their property and capital from Western countries.
This is communism.

It might be portrayed as such on Russian state controlled media, but in actual fact those are funds seized from Russian Oligarchs that are supporting Putin.
