The lies on the side of buses certainly did not help or the claims of oven-ready bullc@p.

It was the will of the people BasicResearchMethods for the better or worse of the matter.

I just think that 4+ years down the line the people should be seeing something positive as opposed to what's in the post.

As far as i can determine the repercussions of Brexit are still piling up when they were supposed to pave the way to a better future.

Again what do we get out of it, not in 2050, but now when we need it?

Not much as far as i can determine.

Brexit is merely the ability to vote for a government who can enact our wishes free from the constraints of the EU bureaucracy.
Such as one that will renationalise those industries we want renationalised and support them rather then tender for the cheapest competition.

The government could always enact our wishes free from the constraints of the EU. That's why we got opt outs. That's why we had subsidiarity. That's why we had a referendum.

Nationalisation and state aid are the left wing arguments for Brexit. That's why Corbyn was so keen on it. Thing is, the left are nowhere near power. Instead, we get fewer rights to enable a few people to make even bigger profits.

No they couldnt hence why it never happened while we were members.

Do you really think that Maggie Thatcher would have drafted the single European Act if it allowed a country to nationalise industry?

The EU has morphed but not fraudulently , I've watched it since its origin as a free trade pact to the European Super State it has become , throughout that time the only time I've seen anti-Russian sentiment was when Russia invaded Afghanistan and then when it annexed Crimea and launched a full scale war against Ukraine.

Given your source is a Russian think tank it's no surprise the quoted portion reads like propaganda .... because it is.

That's why Corbyn was so keen on it.

When Corbyn first entered politics he was against UK membership of the EC - Common Market.
As the EU morphed into the bloated monstrosity it has become he flip-flopped and in the build up to the referendum he quite openly and frequently re-iterated his stance and that of The Labour Party being very much pro-EU.

Post Brexit politics in the UK was dominated with MP's playing party politics, jockeying for position and pushing their own agenda's rather than concentrating on getting the best deal possible for the UK and using it as an opportunity to take this country forwards.
This was supported by senior Civil Servants and vested business interests who resented the electorates decision and who did everything possible to derail and scupper the process.

Brexit was a golden opportunity for this country that was squandered by people more concerned with personal advancement, maintaining the status quo and maximum profits for shareholders and big business before the general interests of the British people.
