What Divides America - Perspective and Opinions

For many their personal perspective is their reality; their truth.
The actual truth is irrelevant to most. They just want what lines up with their personal perspective of current values and total world view.

Never have I read a statement that so accurately describes the divide in America right now.




This is America in 2024.

I find that many people are more concerned with being a part of the popular tribe, than endorsing the truth. "Truth" should never be arrived at by consensus, but by compilation and analysis of data. I am not a fan of Mr. Trump, however I see the choices going forward as finishing the ruination of the American economy on one side, and a chance of countering that wave on the other side.

A person who was interested in research and measurable data might look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Bureau of Economic Analysis as a start, and compare the past government with the current one.

We can hear all manner of hyperbole on the TV feeds which comprise the "news". The statistics which tell the tale are independent of the TV editorials.

It needs to be said more and more that truth is and endpoint from where a trail of facts lead. Not existing with cherry picked support.


I'd be happy to vote for anyone better than Trump. Unfortunately there isn't anyone currently in the race who can do that.

I don't know how many times I have said it here, but it seems we all know who and what Trump is, and there really isn't much ambiguity. He has done us all a favor and been remarkably consistent over the years. he is exactly who he is.

Some of us can look past the abrasive uncomfortable parts to get to the proven track record we really need right now, some cannot and would rather take their lumps in the wallet and safety, just to not have the guy the newz has been telling them to believe is a horrible rapist criminal. I don't know if you are aware, but his accountant listed his payment to his lawyer as a legal expense, 34 times. No, it really happened. The horror. The horror.

Agree. It is why I prefer reading transcripts of speeches to watching the performance -- it weeds out the annoying bits and delivers the intended message. It is also why I lean heavily upon measurable data, because it allows me to see the issues more clearly without the cloud of hyperbole. What I REALLY DON'T NEED is some biased "news" pundit to explain to me what I've just seen with my own eyes, because I'm just SO stupid that I couldn't possibly understand what it really means.
