I don't know if they were the arbitrator. The way I heard it was that Turkey was just the 3rd party that the prisoners would be exchanged through. Not sure if they had anything to do with actually negotiating the deal.

That was a few hours ago though and I've been busy, so there might be more details now.

They had a 40 mile long convoy headed straight to the heart of Kyiv in the first days of the war. Except they're terrible at logistics and damned thing ran out of fuel in the worst possible spot and it became a shooting gallery for Ukraine.

If you don't think that convoy was deployed with the intention of taking Kyiv and ending the war quickly, you're delusional.

I like how you don't come back with "yes, Putin did say he expected it to be over in 3 days, and here's where" with a link.

Because you know I'm right.

I addressed that convoy in my other thread by the way, the one I linked on the previous page. It was never what anyone said it was. They were talking about it for 2 days until a few of the military experts on multiple networks observed there was no armored vehicles in the column, then all of a sudden coverage of it stopped. It was an obvious feint.

By the way, only reply you'll get on that matter as well. Go ahead, get caught in more lies like you did in the earlier thread.

Since you mentioned the politics angle, here's my view on things. Just a few weeks ago Trump was bragging about how the only way Gershkovich is going to get released is if he's President.

Fast forward and now Biden's out of the race and Harris is coming in hot. I think Putin lost faith in Trump winning the Presidency and offering him a sweetheart deal so he decided to take what was on the table worried the next deal would be worse for him.

It would appear that Biden could have got
off his arse and had this done a long time
ago, but he finally had to do something to try
to get sidekick credit.

With these people, it is never about
caring, its is about politics. ALWAYS.

One thing Putin knows for sure is kidnapping US citizens pays, after a Weak President arrives in the White House.

What did Biden give him to get Brittany Grimer released?

Why didn't Trump do anything to get Whelan out when he was President?

I mean, Trump is on tape saying he could get the prisoners out without giving anything to Putin. So why was Whelan in Russian custody since 2018?

Seeing as how his case didn't wrap until late 2020....I wonder why?

Oh, that's right, people like yourself that wished to keep him from doing the job he was elected to do....

Putins price was too high. Biden agreed to pay it now that the elections are less than 100 days away.

Expect more unexpected pandering to the slow crowd from Biden-Harris.

Its all political theatrics with Biden.

Trump left office 4 years ago, Whelan was taken
prisoner in 18. What took Biden so freaking long
is the real question.

Trump got all prisoners released without being blackmailed, like Biden has been, repeatedly.

"Turkey, which coordinated the exchange, said 10 people, including two children, had been moved to Russia, 13 to Germany and three to the United States. Also involved in the swap were Poland, Slovenia, Norway and Belarus."

www.reuters.com...

This just goes to show you how interconnected the world is...

Compromise and diplomacy such as this can really highlight how silly the idea of national pride is.

Different countries, creeds and cultures working together is always a win.

No need to repeat what others, very accurately, stated.

For exactly why I stated.

Is there an echo in here?

Why wasn't the journalist released with the basketball player? Or as opposed to?

Because Whelan was pro Trump, thats why.
Like I said it is all political.

Trump was offered Whelan in exchange for Viktor Bout.

Not a deal he would accept.

But is funny that your trying to pin this on Trump.

Who do you believe, Valerie Plame or John Sipher?

Borg Warner, whom Whelan was supposedly working
for at the time doesn't have a division in Russia.

Personally I think your off your script here, maybe
stick with election stuff.

Its pretty obvious there is more to the story,
its been the IC communities wet dream to
blame everything on Trump while at the
same time getting away with murder under
the pretense of "The Commander in Chief"
shall be disregarded.

It's almost like geopolitics is complicated.
