Hi, haven't kept up but I heard a blip on the radio that they are blaming Native Brits for this?

Really?

WTF!

Blaming them for what?

The killings were done by someone born in the UK.

The violence that followed has been predominantly done by people from the UK.

The most significant event being "the Battle of Orgreave" on June 18, 1984.

Arthur Scargill! Now he could lead.

An absolute giant. Of his time of course, but I've never held that against someone.

You seem to have a very low opinion of ordinary British people.

Of course.
I'm not the one casually dismissing their grievances and calling them 'racists' and 'knuckle draggers'.
I'm not the one showing such pompous arrogance spouting sanctimonious claptrap.

You're the one who is openly stating that they are easily manipulated and controlled.

But its far easier for you to think that than accept that maybe, just maybe, they have legitimate cares and concerns that have been ignored for far too long.

I can't help but wonder what the reaction would be if all these illegal immigrants etc were placed in the more affluent areas of the country rather than the inner cities, urban former industrialised towns and traditional Labour areas.
I can just imagine the outrage from all the champagne socialists, wokerati, trustafarians etc.

The FACT is people are #ing angry; they are sick to death of being ignored, taken for granted and spoken down to by entitled, pompous, self-indulgent do-gooders who assume they know better.

Starmers lack of acknowledgement that people have well founded grievances and his insistence on mislabelling them as 'far-right extremists' is simply fuelling the flames and the sense of disenfranchisement and abandonment that many feel.

Instead of standing up for core traditional Labour voters he's #ting on them from a very great height - there will be a reckoning.

Under normal circumstances, I would empathize with you.

As I have been pointing out, across various threads, for a while, now...how -not only Europe - but the entire world is on a progressive downward spiral into chaos, volatility & corruption.

But ..idk... maybe I shouldn't get caught up in anymore Doom Porn

It's all just so doomy & gloomy

So..

Chin Up !

We should be sending weapons aide packages to the British people instead of Ukraine.

Bollocks to that!
How much did you charge us last time you decided to 'help us' with Aid? 🤣🤣🤣

Its not the end of the world cherokeetroy.

And at some point normal people who are not delinquent scum will turn around and kneecap these feckers causing all the trouble.

It may look like there are more of them than us, but that is just because most reasonable human beings have the common sense not to mob and riot and destroy the place.

That's a matter of opinion. The union split in two remember.

His politics don't entirely align with mine, but, believe me, while he is certainly a pocket rocket, he is far from rabid - that would be a huge underestimation of a very sharp mind. Plus, the man can charm the birds out of the trees. I don't venerate him, I like and respect him but there are many that remain deeply loyal to him.

And few of us are perfect.

He was a charismatic leader, who led from the front. You don't get many of those. They're quite the rarity.

I dont particularly hold with any of the two.

But Scargill did not steal school weans milk.

My thinking being Thatcher wins the Charlie Uniform November Tango award out of the two hands down.

No you are the one calling them racist.

I am distinguishing between the violent racists attacking mosques and ordinary British people.

You seem to think they are one in the same as again in the quoted text.

Thatcher, in her own way, had her charms and certainly inspired a kind of devotion from her cabinet, until she didn't.

Scargill wasn't the opposition leader - or even trying to be. They were not equals.

Arthur doesn't punch down.

I lived right in the middle of it mate.....disagreed with Scargill on one or two things, but every single thing he predicted happened.
Whole towns and communities ripped apart.....all planned and coordinated.

en.wikipedia.org...#:~:text=The%20Ridley%20Plan%20(also%20known,the%201973%E2%80%9374%20coal%20strike.

We're still paying the price for lots of Thatcher's policies.
But let's not go there in this thread....or maybe that was the starting point for what we are seeing today?
