Trump has already suggested he will debate whoever the DNC decides on after the convention

They failed at getting Trump so now Joe has to step down. You cannot have a fragile old man campaigning in the public eye. If Trump was assassinated Joe could have won without campaigning, but since he lived they have to replace their failing puppet due to the optics.
Even if they cheat they know people won’t believe Joe won this time, so on to the next puppet in their arsenal.

Barack Obama can't be VP. Only someone who is eligible for the Presidency can serve as VP and he already served two terms.
