Armed gangs demand as much as three million naira per village, depending on the size, to allow farmers to work.
"The farmers are even forming vigilante groups to make sure they are able to access the farms but it is still very difficult," said Kabir Ibrahim, president of All Farmers Association of Nigeria.
Northern Nigeria produces the bulk of the country's staples like rice, yam and maize, but it is also its most unstable region, as armed kidnapping gangs attack and pillage villages in the northwest while Islamist militants cause havoc in the northeast.

Business as usual until the nukes start flying.
You will continually hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end [of the age]. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish and the time of unprecedented trouble]

The Bible prophesies of wars and rumors of wars at the end times. What do we see today?
*Russia continues in invasion of Ukraine. The ground war is at a near standstill; both sides are lobbing missiles and drones.
*Israel continues to hunt down Hamas, defying many world leaders.
*Kenya having fatal political demonstrations
*Bolivia survives a coup attempt.
*Poland is having border issues with Belarus.
*China is threatening Taiwan (as usual) and bullying the Phillipines.
*Somalia continues civil war / famine

I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff not making the news.
Signs of the End Times? or just business as usual for the human race?
"And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet." - Matthew 24:6 (ESV).

The “last days” or the “end times” started with the death and resurrection of our Saviour and will end upon His return.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the JW’s and the elitist cult of 144000.

What is the actual end?
It is a total end to the worlds systems:
-political
-commercial industrial complexes(big business)
-Militaries
-All Religions God disapproves of
One by one they will be swept away, once the first one falls the rest will fall like dominos shortly afterwards.
That void left will be filled by the Messianic Kingdom with Christ as it's King.
How people act during these systems collapsing will facilitate their ultimate Judgement by Christ.

This is true, Satan does return, but he is gone for 1000 years for the first time in human history, what a difference that will make.
When he is released from his abyss/jail he will be facing a new earth system with God's Kingdom firmly in control of every aspect of life. At which point he will resort to his age old tactics, which is promoting living totally free of God standards and just go do your own thing, just like this world is today.
Some will rebel wanting total freedom, and they will eventually be crushed with the Devil and they will all be gone for good this time.

Surely that puts the battle of Armageddon 1,000 years after Jesus returns to rule His millennial Kingdom on Earth, so it just isn't imminent, like the rapture is.

Name me a time in the last 2000 years there hasn't been a war somewhere on this planet. Some people want to focus on the U.S. and use that as an example.
Ok, we've had - WW1 , WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and others we've been "secretly" involved in like the Contras.
Plagues ? We got a whole shopping list of those.

This is just humans doing what they do.

Interesting theory, but read the book of Revelation that all happens after all the battles and political beasts are dealt with. The final rebellion is much less cataclysmic in nature, also unlike that period of time, everybody will have a perfect IQ they will be much smarter. And they won't be able to deny God's Kingdom like people do today. They will have been living in the proof for hundreds of years. Percentage wise way less people will rebel, but it will still be a large number for example let's say 3% of 10 billion people rebel, that is still 300 million people!
As the book of Revelation says "their number is like the sand of the seashore" so it will be alot. But not the majority.
