The Bible prophesies of wars and rumors of wars at the end times. What do we see today?

*Russia continues in invasion of Ukraine. The ground war is at a near standstill; both sides are lobbing missiles and drones.

*Israel continues to hunt down Hamas, defying many world leaders.

*Kenya having fatal political demonstrations

*Bolivia survives a coup attempt.

*Poland is having border issues with Belarus.

*China is threatening Taiwan (as usual) and bullying the Phillipines.

*Somalia continues civil war / famine

Nyjerian farmers terrorized by armed gangs www.reuters.com...

Armed gangs demand as much as three million naira per village, depending on the size, to allow farmers to work.
"The farmers are even forming vigilante groups to make sure they are able to access the farms but it is still very difficult," said Kabir Ibrahim, president of All Farmers Association of Nigeria.
Northern Nigeria produces the bulk of the country's staples like rice, yam and maize, but it is also its most unstable region, as armed kidnapping gangs attack and pillage villages in the northwest while Islamist militants cause havoc in the northeast.

I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff not making the news.

Signs of the End Times? or just business as usual for the human race?

Name me a time in the last 2000 years there hasn't been a war somewhere on this planet. Some people want to focus on the U.S. and use that as an example.

Ok, we've had - WW1 , WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and others we've been "secretly" involved in like the Contras.

Plagues ? We got a whole shopping list of those.

^^ That.

Everything listed in the OP happens from time to time.
And happens in multiples .. happening at the same time.
Until the NUKES fly ... or until the Muslims take over Israel ...
I say 'stay calm' ... this isn't 'it' yet.

End times for some, new beginnings for others.

I think a lot of people are resistant to the thought of an Apocalypse because they're not ready and they know they're not ready.

People don't focus on the important part of these verses, they say well there has always been wars, and historically we know where and when they were, so yes what they are saying is correct. But the basic lay people alive at that time did not really know about them, unless it was in their geographic region. We have to appreciate the total context of these verses.

The modern technology of the last 100 years or so has made it so we ALL know what wars are going on; where and when, sometimes even in real time. The telegram, the telephone, the TV, internet, and other communication devices keep us continually hearing about all these wars since basically WW1.

Matthew 24: Predicted by Jesus Christ

You will continually hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end [of the age]. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish and the time of unprecedented trouble]

We have major conflicts every decade and lots of smaller ones, this is the time period Jesus was talking about:

World War I (1914-1918)
Russian Civil War (1917-1923)
Chinese Civil War (1927)
World War II (1939-1945)
Arab-Israeli Wars (1948-present)
Korean War (1950-1953)
Vietnam War (1955-1975)
Soviet-Afghan War (1979-1989)
Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988)
Gulf War (1990-1991)
Bosnian War (1992-1995)
War in Afghanistan (2001-2021)
Iraq War (2003-2011)
Syrian Civil War (2011-present)
Russo-Ukrainian War (2014-present, with a significant escalation in 2022)
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (ongoing)

And there are more, of note are conflicts that caused massive genocides not mentioned above

Cambodian Genocide (1975-1979)
The Khmer Rouge regime, led by Pol Pot, systematically killed an estimated 1.7 to 2 million people through forced labor, starvation, torture, and execution.

Rwandan Genocide (1994)
Over the course of about 100 days, Hutu extremists killed an estimated 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus in Rwanda.

If you have a smart phone, you can personally "continually hear of" all these wars daily even hourly sometimes.
And that is different, first time in human history, God being able to look into the future knew this technology would be developed to fulfil this scripture 100% both with happening and being seen, during the last days.

Jesus, specifically, said there will be wars and rumours of wars, but that they won't be signs of the end times.

"And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet." - Matthew 24:6 (ESV).

There is a difference between the end and the last days, also termed the "conclusion of the system of things." The end is the culmination, the climax, of the last days, or the conclusion of the system of things in which we now live. If you notice the disciples asked him what would be the sign of the conclusion of the system of things:

" While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”"-Matthew 24:3.

So yes, the things mentioned are the signs of the end times. Now what chrOnaut referenced was called the beginning of the signs:

"In answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads you, for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for these things must take place, but the end is not yet."-Matthew 24:4-5.

This sign started to be fulfilled in 1914 when the last days commenced and the first truly great world war started.

This is a composite sign. It is not just one thing that proves that we are in the last days, but all of them together that proves it.

Looking at the rest of the composite sign between verses 7-14 and comparing them with the times in which we live we can correctly deduct that we are indeed deep into the time of the end, the last days of this old wicked system of things:

"“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.  All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

“Then people will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name. Then, too, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another.  Many false prophets will arise and mislead many; and because of the increasing of lawlessness, the love of the greater number will grow cold.  But the one who has endured to the end will be saved. And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
"-Matthew 24:7-14.

Notice that Jesus' true followers would be thrown into prison, and even killed and hated by all the nations. This has been fulfilled in his servants among Jehovah's Witnesses, who, all throughout the last days have been thrown into prisons, and killed throughout the earth for preaching the good news of God's incoming world government. This was also a sign of the last days, in verse 14. Never has the preaching of the good news of God's kingdom taken place on a truly global scale as it is being done today by means of Jehovah's Witnesses in all the nations, island groups, and languages of the world.

So all of these together help us to accurately see where we are in the flow of time.

Now Jesus said we should be able to determine what season we are in by these things, just as you are able to determine the appearance of the literal sky:

"When evening falls, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is fire-red,’ and in the morning, ‘It will be wintry, rainy weather today, for the sky is fire-red but gloomy.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but the signs of the times you cannot interpret."Matthew 16:2-3.

Matthew 24

Vs. 48 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Vs. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The “last days” or the “end times” started with the death and resurrection of our Saviour and will end upon His return.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the JW’s and the elitist cult of 144000.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the JW’s and the elitist cult of 144000.

The "last days" of the Jewish system of things were referred to there, and that culminated in 70 C. E. When Roman General Titus sieged Jerusalem, undermined it's walls, burned down its temple, and then pillaged the city burning it tot he ground, killing most people in it, and the few stragglers left remaining being sold into slavery or brought back to be slaughtered in the Roman gladiatorial arenas.

And just as in the first century the good news of the kingdom was heralded in all the "known world" at that time, basically throughout the Roman Empire, by means of those early Christians, so today Jehovah's Witnesses, since 1914 have been preaching the good news of God's incoming kingdom, now they are in 240 nations and island groups of the earth proclaiming the good news of God's kingdom.

While they were busy preaching the good news when the last days started with the outbreak of WWI the rest of the religions of Christendom were busy supporting WWI and slaughtering each other and turned their back on God's established reigning king in heaven. In fact they promote the Satanic counterfeit, the United Nations as God's hope for peace on earth. When we are clearly told that Jesus Christ will soon come to wage war with and destroy all earthly governments and establish a worldwide rule of peace from heaven itself, he being king.

When Jesus arrived in his kingly power in 1914 there was only one Christian group on earth witnessing about his incoming world government. All the rest of the religions of Christendom were sullying their hands with the blood of those slaughtered in the World Wars that followed.

Jesus said that the group that was giving the spiritual food at the proper time would be appointed over all his belongings when he arrived in his presence in kingdom power:

"Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so! Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings."-Matthew 24:45-47.

In 1919 the governing body of what is now known today as Jehovah's Witnesses was appointed by Jesus Christ as his "faithful and discreet slave." By means of them Jesus is operating giving spiritual nourishment to the nations. You may visit JW.ORG to find this spiritual food that Jesus is dispensing to the nations through his "faithful and discreet slave" on earth today.

Jesus is was enthroned as king of God's kingdom in heaven in 1914. You can read an in-depth thread about it here:
The Incoming Worldwide Government.

That we can determine through Bible prophecy with accuracy that 1914 was the year of the enthronement of Jesus Christ in heaven as king of God's kingdom government, and the start of the last days see this thread I authored here:

What is the actual end?

It is a total end to the worlds systems:
-political
-commercial industrial complexes(big business)
-Militaries
-All Religions God disapproves of

One by one they will be swept away, once the first one falls the rest will fall like dominos shortly afterwards.

That void left will be filled by the Messianic Kingdom with Christ as it's King.
How people act during these systems collapsing will facilitate their ultimate Judgement by Christ.

Some Christians erroneously think this will also be the end of the physical planet, that isn't true, this planet can heal itself we know this, and it can heal itself even faster if God is blessing the healing process.

What about Satan's return after the Millennium?

Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him for a thousand years. When the thousand years are complete, Satan will be released from his prison, and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to assemble them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the seashore. And they marched across the broad expanse of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them. And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, into which the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. " - Revelation 20:6-10.

This is true, Satan does return, but he is gone for 1000 years for the first time in human history, what a difference that will make.

When he is released from his abyss/jail he will be facing a new earth system with God's Kingdom firmly in control of every aspect of life. At which point he will resort to his age old tactics, which is promoting living totally free of God standards and just go do your own thing, just like this world is today.

Some will rebel wanting total freedom, and they will eventually be crushed with the Devil and they will all be gone for good this time.

I will just add some today think we have alot of freedom, we actually don't, we are basically slaves to inflation and taxation right now, that isn't freedom, just the illusion of it. Don't pay your house taxes and you will be homeless.

True Jesus said pay your taxes, but when you consider how inflation reacts with taxation rates, we are trapped in a system that unfair to the working class. But even the rich have an illusion of wealth, if the banks won't take your money or close your accounts then they control your wealth as well.
A billionaire that has all his accounts locked his credit cards frozen and is unable to transfer funds to pay taxes is actually poor.
And they can do that to anybody. Look what happened to those rich Russians.

Surely that puts the battle of Armageddon 1,000 years after Jesus returns to rule His millennial Kingdom on Earth, so it just isn't imminent, like the rapture is.

Interesting theory, but read the book of Revelation that all happens after all the battles and political beasts are dealt with. The final rebellion is much less cataclysmic in nature, also unlike that period of time, everybody will have a perfect IQ they will be much smarter. And they won't be able to deny God's Kingdom like people do today. They will have been living in the proof for hundreds of years. Percentage wise way less people will rebel, but it will still be a large number for example let's say 3% of 10 billion people rebel, that is still 300 million people!

As the book of Revelation says "their number is like the sand of the seashore" so it will be alot. But not the majority.

well of course we've always had wars and plagues. the question is, are we having more of them? when the USSR dissolved there was a widespread feeling we were entering a new era of peace (New World Order). instead we're seeing destabilization. conflict in every continent except Antarctica. (and North America, but we have our own issues)

interesting how many conflicts involve Islam or Communists. Two major anti-Christian belief systems.

It isn't a theory. It is there in the Bible in fairly clear text.

1,000 years is more than four times as long as the USA has existed. It's a fair length of time between us on one side of the millennial Kingdom, and the final battle between the forces of good and evil, on the other. Which means that the doom-porn 'prophesied end of the world is happening tomorrow' crowd are quite wrong.
