Keep an eye out for Linda guys, I think we've all had a parent with dementia who wanders. It can be terrifying for their families. Shes pretty young too im hoping for the best.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is looking for a missing woman last seen in Old Mission State Park on Sunday, June 16. It is said by the woman's family that she has dementia.

KCSO responded to Old Mission State Park in Cataldo to find 62-year-old Linda Kent just before 9 p.m.

In a press release, the sheriff's office said that Mrs. Kent's family reported that she went missing while visiting the park. She was last seen near the boat launch.

Linda Kent is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall. She weighs approximately 180 pounds and has silver hair. She was last seen wearing a pink hoodie with green pants. The family of Mrs. Kent states that she suffers from dementia, and may not initially respond if contacted.

These missing adults with dementia really, really piss me off. All too often they disappear while driving their car! WTH???
Why does the family still allow them to drive? At least put a damn GPS tracker on their car!

And WHY do they not invest $10.00 to by a pet ID tag ad put it on a neclace for them? Or go big and buy them a $39.00 watch, for gawds sake!

Hundreds of thousands are spent every year tracking missing people suffering from dementia. It makes one wonder just how much their family really cares.

One thing you have, and it is you are too judgemental. I've known plenty of people with dementia. And if the person wants to escape they will. I knew an old man with dementia who would sneak into the garage open the garage door get the garbage can put it next to the fence and climb over it to escape, after removing all markers to show who he was, and he'd run off down the street looking for his dad Donald Trump. Finally when they put him in a house that actually had locks on it with staff, he would stand by the locked door nonchalantly waiting for someone to come in then grab the door open it and run off. He was kicked out of 2 houses because of his always escaping. And he was running his family crazy tired, and you should see how much money and time and effort they put in to taking care of him. They eventually bought him a condo here on the beach and hired my wife and I to take care of him 24/7. Until he ended up making a cardboard sign and stood at the entrance to the resort condo asking for a ride back to find his father Donald Trump.

Your judgemental, coarse attitude toward the plight of family members who are usually care-givers, and usually older themselves needing of their own assistance (the majority of care-givers of dementia patients are their spouses, who are usually older, and in need of care as well. As a dementia patient will run you down physically and mentally until you are in a constant state of exhaustion.) There is a reason a book about this painful subject written for family members and care-givers is called: The 36-Hour Day

I wonder if you know how little a joy you are to be around to the people that you live with. If you are like that on here all the time, I can only imagine what those around you have to put up with around you. And I have a feeling you know what a rotten person you are to the people around you that love you.

Good questions. I can tell with the few location references ("Kootenai County", "Old Mission State Park in Cataldo") she can't be anywhere near me.

If anything your response is actually quite worse than anything the person you replied to said.

He offered cheap novel solutions to a problem and expressed frustration the problem existed and you jump and attack their character and family relations and all.

The projection on display. If you jump on such minor infractions such as expressing frustration this way I imagine your quite the joy yourself.

Probably. But it wasn't just this comment, just the overall attitude in general that user gives off to many people on this forum over the years. I probably shouldn't have replied in kind, the way that person always snaps at everyone else. Probably make her feel bad for a couple seconds for being the type of person she is. But she'll get over it and go back to doing it all the same.

Ok you came off harsh but I agree totally my great uncle went missing and he had dementia and wandered off and there was a sighting like 1200 miles away from where he went missing but the trail went cold. My family all believed he was still out there wandering around confused for many years. Of course he'd be way too old by now to still be alive.

Well it’s the rules of the game to stay on topic and try not to use personal attacks. It’s hard when we see opinions so different from our own. But I always find it ever so entertaining when people stoop to the very levels they hate to see in others and they do it so fast.

The person was irate at this news. She was being judgemental like she always is. A cup half-empty type of person. How in the world are you going to be irate at a situation you have no information about? Every one of her questions she asks rhetorically paints her as the moral superior of the persons who this tragedy happened to. I just came at it from a different perspective, from one of a care-giver, who has lived in the situation, and know of many other such situations, and know that judging so harshly and getting "pissed off" at the family is just being who she always is, and that is a very judgemental rude person. If you had some real life experience dealing with people with dementia you would be a lot more considerate and understanding. Experience tends to moderate a person in their emotions, and make them more compassionate, and considerate, not just off the cuff "I'm pissed" blah blah blah, I'm better and if they did it my way this wouldn't have happened attitude.

Usually I just ignore that person's crass attitude and rude responses to people. I probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Yes, I do Sho! I lack diplomacy; that's why I'm not POTUS.

I don't use fowerly platitudes when I speak my mine; I say what I think and people always know where they stand with me. Believe it or not, that's what people say they like best about me.

Aropund our area at least 5 or more people with dementia wander off and die-usually from getting lost whiledriving. THAT hurts my heart, and many of these traagic deaths can be prevented.

I speak from a place of anger and frustration. I suppose in the future I could try to calm down before speaking my mind so as to appease all the judgemental, reeligious zealtos-but that wouldn't be me.

She was being judgemental like she always is.

So you came at me with your negative judgement.

Question for you: If your god says murder is a sin, who is the greates sinner- the one who kills one person or the one who kills two?

Go read your Watchtower; judge not lest you be judged.

I did not deserve to be raked over the coals by you, you...you...you sinner , you!

Good luck in the UK trying to get a dementia diognosis , when the person who was developing the blood test for our NHS discovered what they were going to use it for they tried to rescind it they were told to go to hell ,the NHS had paid for it and would do what they like with it .

They ask you to draw a clock face and insert what time they ask - I got that wrong embarrassingly and place a white A4 piece of paper on a blue carpet and ask you seconds later where it is , then they ask you what day it is
.

I always answer them with the date in the Hebrew calendar
just to confuse them and snarkaly reply if I did not know what day and time it was then I would not be here doctor plus my phone reminds me of the appointment.

He totally dodged my questions last week about CJD and dementia having the same symptoms even under brain biopsy and how the British government are keeping that quiet about the tainted beef products from the 1980s and the blood scandal , yip he totally swerved that one .

I have to sit with a security guard between me and my doctor as I seem to frighten them with my lip
as after waiting for a year and a half for a D-dimer blood test I suggested me and Mr Hammer would turn up and take a blood sample from the doctor in a few seconds

P.'s no way in hell should a dementia patient be in control of a vehicle as 8 have a hard job not walking into traffic some days and just hate a loud noise these days

Maybe they already have this but a team of quadcopter (drone) operators would be really helpful in a situation like this. Having a group fly in a grid pattern could cover a lot of ground and possibly identify places to be searched by foot.

Hopefully she is found safe and thankfully it’s not too cold outside to survive the nights. I don’t know of any real dangerous animals in Idaho, other than humans of course, so that too is a plus.

We have planty of mountain lions and a good many of them have lost their fear of humans. If I remember correctly, the local news said they were using drones in their search. We've got so much wilderness that drones have become the go-to tool with S&R these days.

Yep, I forgot about mountain lions, I know, how do you forget a giant cat lurks out there?
They’re rarely seen here in NC, but I think I was stalked by one as a kid. Something paced me in the woods. I stopped, it stopped a second later, I moved, it moved. Scary stuff as the suns going down. I was walking an asphalt road away from houses. Whatever it was wouldn’t step out for me to see it. I lost it at the next intersection when a car drove by. I realized it was my chance to run, so my little fat ass ran like the wind.
