Will he tell them to go back to the s#ithole countries they came from, too?

Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as '#hole' countries

Looks like your link has already been retracted.

Given source they were probably taking something out of context.

He strait up baits them now with things easy to take out of context. See my notes on libertarian convention speech, I point out two or three.

No, it hasn't been taken down. What has happened is that the ATS filter has converted the text in the URL to '#hole', instead of what it actually was.

His comment made news around the world, but of course wasn't reported on reich-wing propagandist sites, so you may not have seen it if that's all you browse. Here's a link to another site where the URL is more acceptable:

Donald Trump’s ‘s---hole countries’ remark and its policy history

Are you implying that there are no schiithole countries? There are plenty, Trump is right and everyone knows a schiithole country when they see one. Like Haiti. What a schiithole. Nothing wrong with calling Haiti out, get your schiit together Haiti. Can you think of another schiithole country that needs to get it together?
Anyway glad to see our black brethren here in the USA are leaving the democrats in droves.
i expect this number to go up

There are people who come from those countries. Trump was denigrating people and living conditions, not some geological features.

The worst of experiences of American citizens is exactly the same as those of people in less wealthy countries.
The right-wing have no solution for the homeless or destitute situations - that they created - except to denigrate the homeless and the destitute as if the downward spiral was something the afflicted desire or could control.

At least all those 'lefty' socialists are trying to make moves to care for and change the situation of the 22% (yup, nearly 1/4) of Americans who have experienced poverty during Trump's administration.

Trump's America is a #hole country for those living in poverty, jobless, homeless, addicted, with psychological problems, unwell, uncared for and without hope.

So Americans are responsible to take everyone from schiithole countries? You know nothing of our immigration laws and our way of life, you have no idea what you are talking about. Get real, citezens have a right to determine who comes into their country, how about we send all the people from shiithole countries to your country, your neighborhood. The USA has taken in more immigrants than any other country since its founding and they come here for the opportunity to work hard and be successful but there are no gaurentees, its a meritocracy. We don't want freeloaders and that is ok for people to feel that way.
You denigrate people all the time, if someone is not a socialist and has conservative views you denigrate them. Give me a break.
The solution to homelessness is prosperity and opportunity. Our capitalistic country, way of life in America has lifted more people from poverty than socialism ever has. People in the USA are seeing the contrast of a Biden America V a Trump America and Trump is winning and gaing in all the polls. Its obvious now and people are voting for Trump. That is what Americans want now.
The majority of Americans want these illegal immigrants deported, democrat, independent and republican alike.

lol, he could only get 8 black supporters to show up in a black church in Detroit. Fox News even tried to claim 8000 people showed up, this is getting beyond pathetic.

A few weeks ago he even tried to connect with the black community by inviting a Crips gang leader on stage, who’s under investigation for murder and 12 attempted murders… this is what the Republican Party has become.

So Americans are responsible to take everyone from schiithole countries?

Possibly, since Americans were usually partly responsible for making them into #hole countries in the first place.

As an example, during French rule of Haiti (1620-1804), it was called "La Perle des Antilles" (the pearl of the Antilles) this was due to its natural beauty and the amount of wealth it accumulated for France.

Haiti's current status, however, is probably due to ongoing American plunder, control and also an occupation (back in 1915–1934). The island is quite closely located to the American mainland (but had more initial wealth and resources than say, Hawaii, the sovereignty of which the US also abused).

When Haitians tried to re-establish their own sovereignty, the US forces did this to their leader:

(The body of Caco leader Charlemagne Péralte on display after his execution by US forces; the image was counterproductive, because the resemblance to the deposition of Jesus gained Péralte the status of national martyr).

The general consensus of the rest of the world was that this was a really #hole thing to do.

However, the majority of people who migrate do so hoping to improve their situation. This explains why, as Trump bemoaned, so few Norwegians emigrate to America in comparison to countries that are poorer (because in comparison to all Scandinavian countries, America is a #hole country).

For the record, Norway is also notably more 'socialist' than America, being a wealthy universalist-welfare state as explained below:

Nordic model

You know nothing of our immigration laws and our way of life, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Why do right-wing posters on ATS consistently assume other people are ignorant of things? How could they even know? Perhaps it is an expression of the Dunning-Kreuger effect?

Get real, citezens have a right to determine who comes into their country, how about we send all the people from shiithole countries to your country, your neighborhood.

New Zealand has a quite open immigration policy. We preferentially accept those with the most to offer in terms of skillset, and only disallow people who are actual criminals. We don't block immigration on group classifications like ethnicity, religion, culture, or nation of origin.

Several times the New Zealand government has said that it would accept immigrants and asylum seekers that Australian right-wing governments were rejecting, but Australia would not let them go once they were in their detention system.

Additionally, New Zealand is perceived as quite distant from other countries and I suppose few think that immigration here is a viable option for them.

The USA has taken in more immigrants than any other country since its founding

Quite literally every country in the world has been populated by immigrants, and the whole human race harks back to origins somewhere in Africa/the fertile crescent, so literally more than 8 billion people all at some stage come from somewhere else. Immigration is just a fact of human life. Even though Trump and reich-whinger apologists try and weaponize it in their propaganda claiming that all ills flow from migration and the greatly feared 'others'.

Here's a thought, perhaps someone could take advantage of migration to strengthen and enrich a nation, like what has happened in all those olden times?

The fact is that immigration by percent of existing population (as in, real population growth by way of immigration) shows that in 2024, Vatican City tops the rank, and the US comes in at 65th place out of 225 countries.

Immigration by Country 2024

and they come here for the opportunity to work hard and be successful but there are no guarantees, its a meritocracy. We don't want freeloaders and that is ok for people to feel that way.
You denigrate people all the time, if someone is not a socialist and has conservative views you denigrate them. Give me a break.

Yes, I do, but I also feel that I am being realist and my response is proportional to the BS.

The solution to homelessness is prosperity and opportunity. Our capitalistic country, way of life in America has lifted more people from poverty than socialism ever has.

Homelessness in the US was trending downwards from 2012 until 2016, but has been trending upwards since then. Surely if Trump's alleged economic wonder was true, and if prosperity and opportunity lifted people out then such trends would not be happening. Prosperity under Trump meant the rich getting richer and social services substantially reduced. That cannot possibly lift anyone out.

Homelessness in America: Statistics, Analysis, and Trends

People in the USA are seeing the contrast of a Biden America V a Trump America and Trump is winning and gaing in all the polls. Its obvious now and people are voting for Trump. That is what Americans want now.
The majority of Americans want these illegal immigrants deported, democrat, independent and republican alike.

The illegal drugs are mainly coming in through ports of entry in bulk, like in a truck or a shipping container, so stopping individuals (drug mules) crossing the border won't make much of a difference:

"The facts are, the majority of opioids and all kinds of other things that are connected to the opioids are coming through the point of entry." - Politifact

Also, the drugs, while coming mostly from Mexico, are trafficked mostly by US citizens:

U.S. citizens traveling through legal ports of entry—not undocumented immigrants—are primarily to blame for fentanyl inflows.

The opiate crisis is the result of US companies which manufactured the drugs within US borders and falsified information, so that US Dr's over proscribed them. So that won't change by closing the border.

What led to the opioid crisis—and how to fix it

The crime within the US is predominantly done by US citizens and the crime index (number of crimes per 100,000 population) in the US is higher than in Mexico. If anything immigration from Mexico has been diluting America's high crime index.

Crime Rate by Country 2024

Not all Americans read only right-wing propagandist stuff. Trump never polled above 50% after his initial win. He didn't poll above 50% in 2020.

Biden Campaign in Denial As Donald Trump Gains Support Among Black Voters

Poll after poll has shown that Trump is gaining support among minority communities, as President Biden's support is slipping. A recent USA Today/Suffolk University poll shows Trump gaining support among black voters in two swing states -- Pennsylvania and Michigan. In 2020, Biden received 92 percent of the black vote nationwide.

In Pennsylvania, 56.2 percent of black voters said they would vote for Biden in 2024, 20 percentage points lower than in 2020. In Michigan, Biden's support among black voters is down 22 percent from 2020.

Big danger.
It’s only the middle of June and Biden is already circling the drain.
The lib cult will deny their losing the black voters but the ones who live in reality are absolutely terrified, and they should be.
All that work with the fake pandering, the virtue signaling isn’t working anymore.
They see the democrats have done nothing for them all these years despite giving them their votes.

President/Candidate JOE BIDEN went to a couple of Black churches this election season, where he babbled clichés, and told lies, believing the audience was dumb and committed to voting for him over Donald Trump in 2024, like they did in 2020.

But President Joe Biden's actions and negligence has hurt Black America far, FAR more than he has helped Black America. In fact, All of Biden's 2019/2020 promises to Black America have failed to materialize in the way he portrayed them. EVERY LAST ONE.

NO VOTER appreciates being used, and taken for a fool. Today, President Biden was in Hollywood, rubbing shoulders with the kind of people he REALLY DOES RESPECT: www.axios.com...

On the other hand, candidate/former President DONALD TRUMP was in Detroit, reminding citizens and community leaders of things his Admin did that helped the Black community from 2017 thru 2020. And receiving input on what their greatest concerns are, going into 2025 and beyond...

Former President Donald Trump held a roundtable discussion in Detroit on Saturday, as his campaign attempts to court Black voters away from President Joe Biden in this year’s election.

Trump spoke about a myriad of topics in a speech that lasted around 20 minutes, including subjects he’s repeatedly addressed in his campaign, like inflation, Biden’s handling of the U.S. southern border with Mexico and his general opposition to an embrace of electric vehicles.

Following the speech, a 20-minute roundtable discussion with small business owners and other community members moderated by U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., took place.

But in a city he only received 5% of the vote in four years ago, candidate Trump also pitched himself as a better choice for Black voters than Biden, telling a diverse crowd he would crack down on crime, improve the country’s economic outlook and in general, do more for Black Americans than Biden has.

Goba wrote: “They had made deals together, weathered crises together, and shared family gatherings together. One had even chaperoned Don Jr. on a trip to Disney World.”

She added that while they were not a “stand-in for all Black people,” they “do represent a recognizable part of Black culture that Trump has long been plugged into.

Strawberry told Goba, “People are hoping that he comes back, a lot of athletes.”

No, the US forces and the government that sent them to attack a sovereign state (Haiti) are to blame. Specifically the US Marines that were sent by Woodrow Wilson who falsely used the Monroe Doctrine to 'defend' the region from a European colonization that had already ended 111 years before, and who seized and froze Haiti's assets, so the country could not rule itself.

Slavery in Haiti was abolished in 1804, 64 years before slavery was abolished in the USA. Haiti was the first country in the modern world to fully abolish slavery (without even any exceptions in its statutes).

Including the emancipated slaves? You make zero sense. I'm responsible? Wrong direction for a reasonable discussion.

In my previous post I made no reference to emancipated slaves being to blame, nor to anyone alive today. The occupation of Haiti by US forces was from 1915-1934. After slavery had been fully abolished in both countries, and more than 90 years ago.

Besides at this point in history a schiithole country is what it is, trying to go back throughout history and attribute blame is an exercise in futility. Every country has blood on their hands, c'mon man thats absurd.

... and you'll next go on to tell me about American history in the rest of your post after telling me that the past is irrelevant. Real smooth!

The United States has been one of the most militaristically antagonistic nations in the modern world and was rather late, in comparison to other countries, to fully abolish slavery for the entire country.

Slavery and forced labour is still 'legal' in the USA as long as they can call the enslaved person a felon. This is due to the exception written into the 14th amendment.

Napolean sold the Louisiana territory to the US for a huge discount. The Louisiana purchase was so large it double the US in size and had many problems with slaves revolting which was the main reason for the discount. Slaves existed all around the globe at that time, the founding fathers were world leaders in emancipating the slaves. History is more complicated than your sources make them out be. Besides, not on topic.

Yes, it is quite off topic, in fact, I'm not sure how it even relates to anything to do with the debate, but the USA wasn't a world leader in the abolition of slavery. The floundering fathers; George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin and Alexander Hamilton were all slave-owners. Some of them spoke out or wrote about slavery being 'a bad thing', but actions speak louder than worms words.

America has always had policy for disallowing known criminals to have free passage into the country, both deporting those where there is an extradition treaty, and imprisoning the rest.

Trump started suggesting that ALL undocumented or visa-less were criminals and were illegal (despite there being legal entry rules for asylum seekers and and other visa-less, or otherwise undocumented, crossers of US borders).

That is all the Americans are asking for. You are clueless.

There you go again. Making statements based upon your own assumptions.

Would you want people from all countries around the globe flooding into New Zealand in the tens of millions with no vetting process, then released into the country, your country, with a court date years away??

No. New Zealand probably does not have the resources to support tens of millions.

Killing and raping New Zealanders on a daily basis?

And there we have the implication that that the undocumented and visaless are all killing and raping more than US Citizens are.

The statistics show that the vast majority of killers and rapists committing crimes inside the USA borders, are US Citizens, and this has always been the case.

The per capita crime rate in Mexico is lower than the per capita crime rate in the USA. Although the Mexican per capita crime rate isn't low.

The per capita murder rate in Mexico is higher, but the per capita murder rate in the USA is still the 24th highest in the world.

It's happening in Europe too. Your long winded diatribe is getting further away from the topic which is.....it's about time the black population in the USA finally decided to not vote as a monolithic block and started to has a diversity of political perspective and consoder Trump, which is a much better choice for all Americans.

All Americans, regardless of skin pigmentation, should embrace a diversity of political perspective. Neither Trump nor Biden are good choices for all Americans. They both are too old. They follow party lines where both parties are seeking power and have left good governance behind in their grasp for it.

The American electoral system is 200 years old and desperately needs reform, as it always seems to remove alternate choices, and reduce everything down to two sub-par and self-seeking options. First-past-the-post and winner-takes-all systems favour the corrupt and can never represent the entire populace.

True, honest and compassionate administrators, with history of good administrative and legal capability, are systematically eliminated from all candidacies, and this is in preference for show-people and and populists with lacklustre records of conduct.

Just look at the candidates to choose from, going back several terms or decades. Have they been the best that America has to offer?

The Haitian slaves were not emancipated by Napoloean, they fought and died for their freedom. Americans and the US government freed the slaves. Big difference! Americans, long before Lincoln Emancipation Proclamation, support the freedom of the black slaves helping Harriet Tubmans "underground railroad" and in other ways.

Haitian Revolution, series of conflicts between 1791 and 1804 between Haitian slaves, colonists, the armies of the British and French colonizers, and a number of other parties. Through the struggle, the Haitian people ultimately won independence from France and thereby became the first country to be founded by former slaves.
