My own observation is that PMs are mostly sucessful, but just occasionally hit and miss. There is a member here whom I have sent and received many, many PMs with. Sometimes they send something and it appears to them as read, when I haven't even received it. Sometimes I send something and it appears to me as read, and they didn't get it. Sometimes we number our missives in order to quantify the problem. Just occasionally a number or two go missing.

ETA: Because of the above, we have both elected to take personal or serious conversations to omail, rather than risk a possible compromise here. Not being dramatic, just careful.

Careful is the correct course of action in the absence of credible further information.

I launched this test, and this post on 'Board Business', only in an effort to see what works and what does not.

DTOM has issued a responsible warning for DM's here. My DM's were purely trivial, but I totally understand DTOM's caution; it makes perfect sense.

We are in uncharted territory, are we not?

Restraint is probably the better part of valor at this point.

Agreed?

Completely agreed. Think of this as discussion board survivalism; you want your pantry stocked, and you want your tools, and you want your emergency goods. Outside of that, comms are purely a luxury, and just occasionally a dire necessity.
