With Jan 6th, there was no insurrection.
If the National Guard was there, the agitators wouldn’t have been able to operate the way they did.

Have I called it an insurrection? No. However if you think the people sitting in jail just "toured" the Capitol, and actually believe that, without ever finding out why they are in jail, seeing what they actually did, hearing from them, etc. I don't know what to tell you. I guess just keep living with that delusion if it makes you happy.

But I am glad to see you will be happy for a big show of force next time. Maybe the President will call in over 5000 NG and LEO, fully equipped from all over the country with air support like Trump did in 2020.

Army Sec Ryan McCarthy, reportedly a Mark Milley loyalist, was the DOD official responsible for authorizing deployment of Nat Guard on Jan 6.

He was MIA as DC Nat Guard Gen William Walker and his team tried to reach him the afternoon of Jan 6 so Walker could send his troops, stationed at the armory since 6am according to one of my sources, to the Capitol.

But McCarthy was fielding calls from reporters and lawmakers including Schumer (a terrible actor btw) and Pelosi. He oddly was with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser prepping for a press conference that afternoon.
