Both are from Michigan where I am from.

Never really cared for Kid Rock’s music but I have met a few people from his circle and they are just regular, every day people.
Didn’t seem to be overly political.

Nugent’s music is more my style but he was not always political either.
He owned a radio station here in the 90s and he did the morning show that we always had on the radio where I worked back then.
I don’t remember him talking about politics that much at the time.

I think Obama’s disaster for this country is what set Ted over the edge.

i had that issue for years, it was in the the interview, it also said that while they were talking, a stray dog ran across his yard and he pulled a .45 out and shot it.

i still like the motor city mad mans music, but he is a poser to.

I think talent has a lot to do with it - I'd never heard of Kathy person before the beheading Trump photo stunt (that was neither funny, nor shocking). What few comments I have seen from her are boring, unfunny and not memorable. The stunt struck me as hollow, desperate attention seeking rather than a meaningful statement.

The artists you mention are all incredibly talented, articulate and gave a voice to sections of society that were denied a voice. Their politics only added to their talent and message regardless of whether people agreed with their message or not.

I hope when trump gets back in the whitehouse, he arrests all those commies and sends them to Getmo for life.

Im ok with that point of view. Right up until they just lie about someone like a MAGA or a Truther and then act like their lie is a proven fact and we are morons for not believing a steaming pile of BS that even a kid can tell it is BS. Then, I don't ever care to see them earn one red cent thru my participation.

Look...it's not about being unaware...or blissfully ignorant...it's about being so aware...that...you...become the arbiter of your own belief system...and not a co-opted cog lost in the machine...parroting the unreality that our society has placed us in...

If you look at Dolly Parton, you see a good indication of how this should be managed. She is vehemently against sharing her political opinion, because she is well aware of what "taking a side" will do to her fan base. And she would like as many fans as she can get.

Movie entertainment is a supply and demand commodity. And Hollywood does a job on paving the demand as well as the supply.

Most of the $$$ required to produce a feature destined for the theater Bigscreen comes from Hollywood, but the industry is changing to focus on 60in flatscreens and streaming and people staying home. That allows independents to make feature lengths films and TV with equipment bought at walmart. In my experience, anyone can be a producer and market even mediocre content to a myriad of streaming platforms world wide. If you have content, somebody wants it. Blessed to have found the biz as my second career. I don't feel my efforts influence anyone, I'm in it for the money. Why lie?

Sorry, My reply to you was meant in sincerity. It was written in your language I assume and I had no idea what it said. I too have a huge music collection. Mostly vinyl and I enjoy it and will not throw it away but when I chose who to spend my money on, whether it be a concert, a live comedy show or going to the movies. I am now forced to decide if I want to listen to someone tell me how to live my life rather that just enjoying the entertainment. The entertainers have made that choice for us by being so outspoken and using their fame to try to influence the youth of this country. I cannot in good conscious condone or support that. And as soon as one of their own speaks up with a voice of reason they silence it themselves by de platforming that person. You never see them again. They get blacklisted in hollywood for having a sane opinion. We literally live in the twilight zone.

People need to get their heads around the difference between 'polite' and 'impolite' talk ...

Polite talk is the weather, food, music & pets etc.

Impolite talk is religion, politics, economics & personal health subjects etc.

Comedy is a form of art and if art doesnt motivate you in some way positively or negatively then it's not art!

What Kathy Griffin engaged in was impolite political rhetorical comedy and I am not surprised it cost her supporters!

What Bruce Springsteen engaged in was also political rhetoric and I am not surprised it has cost him supporters also!

Methinks both started out not being impolite and then suddenly changed along the way to being very impolite, where as others have been impolite from the get go and that seems to work better for them.

Basically don't claim you are all innocent and homely guy/girl next door and then betray your fan base later on. Dolly Parton got that bit right!
