I shot him because I thought he was selling drugs.
Yeah, let's see how that defense holds up in court.

Here's the weird thing. DeSantis is a very bright guy. He graduated from Yale, Magna Cum Laude, then went to Harvard Law School. Served in the Navy in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He knows the law. Which means that he has to know that what he's proposing here is blatantly unconstitutional and illegal. Nobody gets to use lethal force on the basis of a suspicion.
He took an oath of office to support the Constitution of the US, which includes all the laws that were passed under it. What is it about the MAGA crowd that they claim to prefer illegality even after taking oaths to the contrary?
Simple answer,yes.

Take a page out of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's play book; Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is endorsing the authorisation of deadly force when dealing with suspected drug traffickers at the southern border.

This endorsement comes on the heals of the mistraled case against 75-year-old Arizona rancher George Alan Kelly, accused of fatally shooting a migrant on his property near the U.S.-Mexico border last month.
Do cooler heads need to prevail at the southern border or is deadly force the only response that will keep the drug cartels at bay?
California does you,you do California.

If this gets enacted, I see a future with trigger happy proud boys going to border towns harrassing brown people whether they're Americans or not, then shooting them if they think they have drugs on them.
Hell, they could even plant drugs on them after killing them, just like corrupt cops.
If your answer is violence, you haven't been doing enough thinking.
