Take a page out of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's play book; Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is endorsing the authorisation of deadly force when dealing with suspected drug traffickers at the southern border.

Ron DeSantis endorses 'deadly force' against migrants suspected of trafficking drugs

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday said he supported using "deadly force" against migrants coming into the United States who were suspected of bringing in drugs.

This endorsement comes on the heals of the mistraled case against 75-year-old Arizona rancher George Alan Kelly, accused of fatally shooting a migrant on his property near the U.S.-Mexico border last month.

Do cooler heads need to prevail at the southern border or is deadly force the only response that will keep the drug cartels at bay?

Cartel Members are Heavely Armed thanks to Obama's " Fast and Furious " Scandal . Considering that , Law Enforcement Needs to have at Least a Fair or Better Arsonal to Combat such a Threat to the U.S. . Ron did the Right thing here and I would Hope other States follow Suit .

The traffickers are helped by the Biden admin, so DeSantis needs to get them first for aiding and abetting known felons.

Nope.
Hotter heads need to prevail.
Our Federal Government is supposed to be dedicated to protecting the population of this country.
It is not.
Arm the CITIZENS of the border with the good stuff and let the massacre begin.
We gave them the chance to do it right.
Now we should do it well.
Damn the left, damn the liberals, damn the stupidity!

I shot him because I thought he was selling drugs.

Yeah, let's see how that defense holds up in court.

If this gets enacted, I see a future with trigger happy proud boys going to border towns harrassing brown people whether they're Americans or not, then shooting them if they think they have drugs on them.

Hell, they could even plant drugs on them after killing them, just like corrupt cops.

If your answer is violence, you haven't been doing enough thinking.

That defense resulted in a mistral of 75-year-old Arizona rancher George Alan Kelly, accused of fatally shooting a migrant on his property near the U.S.-Mexico border last month.

Here's the weird thing. DeSantis is a very bright guy. He graduated from Yale, Magna Cum Laude, then went to Harvard Law School. Served in the Navy in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He knows the law. Which means that he has to know that what he's proposing here is blatantly unconstitutional and illegal. Nobody gets to use lethal force on the basis of a suspicion.

He took an oath of office to support the Constitution of the US, which includes all the laws that were passed under it. What is it about the MAGA crowd that they claim to prefer illegality even after taking oaths to the contrary?

GOOD... It doesn't matter if it's Migrants, or Americans, or E.T. from Pleiades. Anyone pushing drugs on our children are eligible for death.

Oh Contraire Moan A Me , Desantis more than Likely ran it by his AG before announcing that . Governors have Certain " Powers " to Confront Threats to the State . That is Constitutional .

Looked into the story, hadn't heard of it before, and something is off.

75 year old rancher supposedly lets off 9 rounds into the air and one bullet just happens to strike a guy with a radio (walkie-talkie type) and, from what I found, there were no drugs or guns although the rancher said this group of guys were shooting at him with AR-type rifles.

One theory states the guy may have been a scout for the cartels. Are scouts put out in the field in groups of 10?

I could be wrong but I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

I think the mistrial is right, that radio means the guy wasn't just a migrant but I just looked at google maps and this guys closest neighbor is probably 1/4 of a mile away and there don't seem to be any other people out there other than those two houses till you hit the town which is about 2/3 of a mile.

And there seems to be a lot of places where things can be stashed. I'm just going to say it, I think this guy did the job he was paid to do.
