Just like everyone I've transgressed T&C's on occasions but personally I'll try to act with respect and dignity.

that would be a nice thought, but as in my case, I've been an asshole the entire time, and to change now would seem disengenious. You have to dance with the one that brought ya.

In a way, this whole experience is like the Walking Dead comic / franchise. Refugees of a world that once was, navigating the the post-apocalyptic world full of unknowns. New kingdoms will rise out of the aftermath, but they will only resemble the old ones so as to lend comfort and ease the transition into the new frontier. Outside the walls of the new ATS-Alexandria are the wilds the former ATS sought to unravel.

Looming in the shadows is the evil and scheming Negan-Darko, complete with his instrument of joy, Lucille. He is not among the undead, but perhaps worse, among the living.

As the survivors try to furnish their new world with fragments of the old world they slowly realize the futility of such endeavors, they realize their priorities must be adjusted to adapt to the changing landscape. Perhaps the old world is just that, "old", and to try to carry it forward is too much baggage to bear.

In all of it though, there is always a ray of hope, a ray of hope that things will once again return to the way they were in the 'good ol' days'. But, as always, there is change; time brings about change, and change is inevitable. Optimists hold up the glass and announce it to be half full, while others smash the glass onto the ground, shattering it.

Much the same as life itself, no one knows what the future will hold. But hope remains.

Oh, I would agree, in general, for the most part, but it wasn't long standing members whom I was referring to. I think, over the coming days, stranger and stranger things will begin to happen. We've already seen one instance of it in the TEOTWAWKI thread, new sign-ups making very cryptic posts. Plus, over the years there have always been many lurkers whom never spoke; this will be their final opportunity to have their 'voices' as it were heard.

It should be interesting to say the least. It is, after all, at the end when the strangest music of all plays.

The last time things went tits up the vile stuff being spewed was coming from old members I suspected.

You're probably right but I'd still see it for what it is, dopamine hits for a brain with broken serotonin production.

Meanies with anonymity and doomporn enthusiasts during the day job. The ethos of pursuing happiness probably went way over their head. Sadly obsessive is probably the nicest term I can think of for them.

So much vile was posted by established ATS members it would've been so good to have recorded those posts as proof of who they really are and thier true beliefs.

I remember reading the utter crap posted when people lost their accounts, I think it was just a few childish types being silly really. I think most of us are mature enough to stay within the T&C’s despite wanting to reach out and physically strangle each other at times…

I considered the last issue to be a potential experiment...

Something along the lines of sending the guards on holiday and opening all the cell doors, it kind of proved all those theories about what would happen if there's a societal collapse.

Something that's been talked about for years here... You'd think they/we would know better.

I love to fish but I also can evaluate if the cost exceeds the value. I know lots of guys who go out on their expensive boats fishing and get just the limit of fish...every weekend they are out on the big lake in the summer. Now that fish winds up costing about thirty bucks a pound if you figure it out. I just go buy whole whitefish from the fishhouse here at six bucks a pound.

Also most time I went deer hunting, when I got a deer, the cost of going to camp and the cost of the beer, license, food and bullets and gas exceeded the value of the meat. I was buying half or a full cow years back from a farmer I know for a buck a pound hanging weight....and the wife ate the beef. So I haven't hunted deer for almost twenty years now. I payed back the deer for the lives I had taken of their kind, they come to our house and eat potatoes, apples, carrots, and homemade organic bread and rolls many months of the year. I guess my debt to their species should be getting paid by now. I have guns in the house, if I shot one of our pets, the wife would possibly shoot me...I can't eat a pet. If the world falls apart, I will be out there with a gun protecting a herd of deer in my yard because the wife will make me protect them.

What have I come back to. I've been abroad this last week, so ???????????

I lost a lot of respect for some long time members during that mess. It was sad.
And I don't mean the ones that were attacked first. That was self defense.

A childish # show? Yes it was from what I read. DBc this and DBc that… as for defending oneself it was probably one of the clique taking the piss in the first place. I’ll admit some comments were actually funny, but it was mostly childish twaddle.

I wasn’t logged out of my old account at the time, but couldn’t comment, pm or anything, so didn’t bother until I finally created a new account, hoping things might just resolve themselves in the meantime. I was suspicious about these account resets, and still am, since anyone could claim to be any old account with no email to verify/reset old account. But it seems most people are who they claim to be, you can just tell from writing style/phrasing etc..

I miss my old nemesis though, I will have to create a thread in ancient and lost civilisations to see if I can draw them out.
