After Katrina hit New Orleans. Late in the recovery and rebuilding. We did some mission work in the 9th ward to rebuild homes. The church we stayed at had to have a guard. We have a system here were I live that places the people as the ones solely responsible for selecting the best representative of the people for the people. If that person is found to be corrupt we have laws and process in place to deal with them. See the key to our system is we control the governance and even if all the systems we put into place become corrupt themselves we the people have the responsibility and power( we are armed to the teeth) to get it back on track. The closest structure to Cherokeetroy's ideal is the Middle Class. This is where people work hard their whole lives to build a nice niche in society and they do not want to disrupt all that work invested. You don't need to worry about your neighbor cutting your throat for your weedwhacker as they would lose all they have worked hard to gain.

The poor have nothing to lose so they have very little restrains on what they do. The upper rich are the same in they don't have the restrains either as their situation is not a delicate balance like the middle class is. When I say restraints, I'm not talking about slavery, but personal restraints that one personally follows.

I personally feel it as I approach retirement there will be little restraints on me and I can do what I want good or bad. Hopefully, I stay good, but the reality is I will have nothing to lose.

When I say we live in a "fallen world", I'm not being metaphorical. We are literally in a pit of hell. So from my perspective, that means there are greater heights for us to aspire to. When you hit rock bottom, there's no direction to go but up. The issue I see is many people have settled for mediocrity. There is a higher chance of unarmed people in my country revolting against my corrupt government compared to your "armed to the teeth" people's chance of revolting against your own corrupt government. But feel free to pretend as if you can OR would do anything.

Let's say you wanted to remove your corrupt government. The second you even THINK about doing it fbi would be on your doorstep for arresting you for "terrorism" thanks to all those various spying devices(such as iphones) spying on you all day every day. Let's say you you didn't listen and fired on them.
