It could be true. France didn't deny the news and it would be right up Macron's alley, who fancies himself the leader of the EU. Trump's half-a**ed attitude to NATO and his attempt to halt the help for Ukraine has motivated the European countries to seek other means of defence against Russia instead of relying only on the US. France is trying to do its own thing to help Ukraine. It's mostly a PR move; showing the rest of NATO that the French government is strong and brave enough to actively defend Ukraine and ensure the security in Europe.

In reality though it's a small number of soldiers and none of them is a French citizen. The Foreign Legion, as the name suggests, are foreigners. So Macron won't be facing criticism that he's sacrificing the lives of the French soldiers.

It's highly unlikely, at least at this point, that Russia will attack any NATO country with a strategic nuclear bomb. However, it's possible that it will use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine either to achieve the freezing effect or make some advancement on the battlefield. We don't know if it happens but, taking into consideration that Putin is becoming more and more psychotic, he could make such a move if only to spook the West.

I think if Medvedev read anything Dugin wrote then I imagine he'll be calling people who aren't Russian sub-human soon enough in his next tirade.

All this talk by Putin and Medvedev about tactical nukes makes me wonder if the supply chain for Russian missles is now starting to falter, especially after reading about the supply problems with American purchased advanced machinery they use to make missles.
Putin gets to look tough using tactical nukes and cover up the supply issues?
The problem is with everything running out, Russian forces will only be left with either tatctical nukes or throwing harsh words at the Ukrainians but then I imagine Mad Vlad doesn't care about any troops he sends to die in Ukraine by either being killed by Ukrainian forces or Russian nukes.

I think he will try a WW1 type offensive first by throwing released prisoners, conscripts and mrcs into the meat grinder first, and then it's tactical nukes with Russia losing any support from China and becoming even more of a parish state than it is now.
