The protests were anti-war, not so much anti-draft, but sprung from the disillusionment that came when they realized they weren't fighting for something moral, but something immoral. Vietnam war veterans were labeled "baby killers".
But yeah, many of the dead babies, whose death they were protesting, were our own sons, brothers, friends and neighbors, like my 18-year-old next door neighbor's boy, oldest of 3, who was killed in Vietnam.
