Dozens of anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University in New York took over a building on campus early Tuesday, barricading the entrances and unrolling a Palestinian flag out of a window.

Video footage showed protesters on Columbia's Manhattan campus locking arms in front of Hamilton Hall, where the office of the Dean is located, early Tuesday morning and carrying furniture and metal barricades to the building. Protest organizers made a post on an Instagram page shortly after midnight urging demonstrators to protect the encampment and join them at Hamilton Hall.

So yesterday Columbia's leadership gave the protesters (whom they were negotiating with) an ultimatum to be gone by 2pm or face being expelled. 2PM came and went, and there was no bite to the bark. So just a few short minutes later, the crowd grew. And now it has morphed into what we have here. Left liberals and terrorists working togeather to take over the school. Which based on what these kids appear to be learning has already happened years ago.

If you allow spoiled kids to run amok, you get kids who act like this. Until they are on the recieving end of the violence, they won't grasp what this is all about. Once they are, it may start to sink in. But it's coming. Till then, keep poking that bear sport.

Texas did it right. They declared that anyone protesting on campus was trespassing. The protestors showed up anyways and within 3 minutes a massive swarm of cops broke it up and arrested people. Charges were not dropped and any students that suffered because they missed school or got suspended learned the life lesson called CONSEQUENCES.

The morons at Columbia are now chanting anti-Columbia slogans along with the genocidal 'from the river to the sea' slogan. They do not deserve to go to school there. Columbia should expel all of them. The protestors are idiots for what they are doing, and the management of Columbia are idiots for allowing it.

Several other universities now have police enforcing lockdown. Only actual students are allowed on their grounds.

New York police are in place to go into Columbia University if requested or there are any reports of injuries.


This occupation on the building might have woke up some of those in charge at other universities to how much of a problem they are allowing to occure.

Columbia is a private college, while UT is public. Which is why the use of Police was easy there, and not so much for NY. This is a leadership issue. If you are the top guy/girl at any position, you have to be ready, willing, and able to lead. This is not that. This is failure in epic proportions. These folks need to step down and spend some time on the other side of the desk for a bit.

not sure how the point was missed, but when all you got is a hammer, I suppose everything looks like a jewish nail.

This is about failed leadership. They could be protesting blonde hair, or wanting to ban tube socks, it doesn't matter. What does matter is when you fail to lead, you get things like this. Tomorrow or the next day, the war will be over, and the news about joos won't be as plentiful. Then those who just hate them for being them will have to sit idley by waiting for the next outrage de-jour.

And I suspect the love for Palestine will fade away into the sunset along with many a good thought.

Private college? Let it burn. When the privileged upper class parents feel the warm comforting glow of their money going up in smoke, that's when outrage politics meets conventional wisdom and strong business instincts. May the best hypocrite win.

The numbers don't add up.

Abraham Wyner, a professor of Statistics and Data Science at the Wharton School, has done an analysis on the claims by Hamas about the death totals. And his conclusion is that the numbers are bogus. No surprise considering it's Hamas that is making the claims. He gives the reasoning and the charts and graphs and the math etc etc. All are available at the links provided.

Saying that civilians are dying in Gaza is truthful.
Claiming that 30,000 civilians are known to be dead by the IDF is just wrong.

Hamas should give up the hostages and lay down their arms.
And the 'palestinians' that support Hamas should stop supporting them.
Then no one would be dying.

Wyner’s critique is damning: The daily reported death tolls rise in a straight line, about 270 a day — which makes zero sense, since in any war, some days see far greater fighting and bombing than others.

Plus there’s no correlation between the reported numbers of children and women slain each day (when most kids are surely near their mothers) or between the numbers of women and men.

Also, the ministry claims that 70% of the dead are women and children, while Hamas admits to losing 6,000 of its (male) combatants — which would mean that almost no male civilians have been killed.

The obvious conclusion is that the ministry is just (clumsily) making it all up. It’s definitely not presenting real info gathered from across Gaza.

A professor of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Wyner provided a detailed analysis of the data from the Gaza Health Ministry, which showed that they had, at the very minimum, been doctored – and at worst, completely faked.

Wyner first tackles the total reported deaths, which he shows climbed by 270 plus or minus about 15% every day. This, he says, is statistically impossible: "There should be days with twice the average or more and others with half or less." "The graph of total deaths by date is increasing with almost metronomical linearity," he says – meaning at a regular rate, like a metronome.

"Most likely, the Hamas ministry settled on a daily total arbitrarily," he concludes. "We know this because the daily totals increase too consistently to be real. Then they assigned about 70% of the total to be women and children, splitting that amount randomly from day to day. Then they in-filled the number of men as set by the predetermined total. This explains all the data observed."

He also highlights that by Hamas's own admission, 6,000 Hamas fighters have been killed, which if combined with Hamas's data on deaths, shows that 20% of the total deaths are combatant while 70% are women and children. This implies that "Israel is somehow not killing noncombatant men, or else Hamas is claiming that almost all the men in Gaza are Hamas fighters."

In conclusion, he says, "The truth can’t yet be known and probably never will be. The total civilian casualty count is likely to be extremely overstated.

How Hamas "Gaza Health Ministry" Fakes Casualty Numbers

Here’s the problem with this data: The numbers are not real. That much is obvious to anyone who understands how naturally occurring numbers work. The casualties are not overwhelmingly women and children, and the majority may be Hamas fighters.

Not only do official Palestinian death counts fail to differentiate soldiers from children, but Hamas also blames all deaths on Israel even if caused by Hamas’ own misfired rockets, accidental explosions, deliberate killings, or internal battles. One group of researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health compared Hamas reports to data on UNRWA workers. They argued that because the death rates were approximately similar, Hamas’ numbers must not be inflated. But their argument relied on a crucial and unverified assumption: that UNRWA workers are not disproportionately more likely to be killed than the general population. That premise exploded when it was uncovered that a sizable fraction of UNRWA workers are affiliated with Hamas. Some were even exposed as having participated in the Oct. 7 massacre itself.

The truth can’t yet be known and probably never will be. The total civilian casualty count is likely to be extremely overstated. Israel estimates that at least 12,000 fighters have been killed. If that number proves to be even reasonably accurate, then the ratio of noncombatant casualties to combatants is remarkably low: at most 1.4 to 1 and perhaps as low as 1 to 1. By historical standards of urban warfare, where combatants are embedded above and below into civilian population centers, this is a remarkable and successful effort to prevent unnecessary loss of life while fighting an implacable enemy that protects itself with civilians.

YES, noncombatants have died in Gaza. But they die in every war. What we DO know is that the numbers Hamas have given are fake. The true number will never be known.

If I was able to shell out that kind of money for my kid to go to this expensive college, said kid better be IN CLASS, head down and book open.

I have no problem with kids protesting or speaking their minds. But first of all, you need to learn and understand what you are protesting for.

I believe the majority of these “protesters” are paid agitators with some students mixed in, I would say probably a 70%-30% ratio of paid and students.

going in and arresting everyone, then not allowing the quick bail out and charges dropped is a good first step. Once there are repercussions to bad actions, bad actions will not be as big of an issue.

As a resident of NY; I dislike the idea that the police wont come to my aid because I'm being physically harassed in a pivetatly owned establishment.... Does the Mayor of New York bar hus police from operating in all privately owned establishments... or does he extend that privilege only to NY universities where he doesn't want to get politically involved?

at 2 PM yesterday, a few cops and a few arrests would have ended this. But now, a full SWAT team with RIOT police will be needed to fix it. And with something like that, folks will get hurt or killed. And it didn't have to happen. If only a leader was there.....

That threat and demand from Columbia was a ruse. How were they going to disperse the crowds and identify the "students" to be "punished. It was a ruse. The high administration in many of these colleges are encouraging the violent protesting. IT's OBVIOUS NOW isn't it. 😊

Bad parenting, a society that is upside down.

These students that have been arrested should:

Be criminally charged with trespass, property damage, etc.

Be kicked out of college. Transcripts marked with the charges.

Be required to pay for any and all repairs.

Apologize to the students on campus they hurt. Not just physically, but financially, too. Tuition is going to have to go up to pay for repairs and insurance premium increases.

Once these consequences have been satisfied, give them a one way ticket to Gaza, use all the force necessary to get them on the plane, and ban them from coming back to the country they hate.
