For all we know he could have given the endorsement licensing to his friend for a dollar. Do you know anything different?

The point is he is scamming religious people now and as I repeated from listening to a former cult member, cult indoctrination tactics work 100% when religiousness is thrown into the mix. Pay attention, deprogram yourself, follow the money.

Burden of proof is on those peddling the lies saying he is selling bibles, not on those of us who can read and comprehend on a higher than 1st grade level.

There is no burden of proof when Donald Trump's name is on it and he's advertising it , he is getting money from the sale of the Bible.... Fact.

Nobody has been able to tell me why this is such a problem for you guys?

It is a man endorsing bibles to sell, what is so wrong with it?

Oh wait, it's that orange man that makes it all bad isn't it?

I think anyone trying to hawk 60 dollar bibles is bad taste. Particularly someone running for office.

Why does 'orange mang' a pass from 'you guys' on everything?

A businessman ENDORSING a very nice Bible for a close personal friend, whether he's running for office or not. What's the issue?

Why does "orange mang" existing evoke such visceral reactions from "you guys"?

I think promoting/selling/endorsing* 60 dollar bibles is bad taste for anyone running for office. Possibly anyone full stop.

Your exact words

Yes still with the 60 dollars.

Eta - which also shows I didn't edit it out.

Realize you are being scammed people.

Again.

People want a bible ... they pay for a bible .... they get a bible.

How are they being scammed? They are getting what they want.

I think people paying $1500 for a baseball signed by Obama are crazy.

But they too are getting what they want. No scam.

A self-proclaimed billionaire is scamming people to pay his legal bills, how is that not a scam? While his lawyer and who knows who else is living high on the hog in paradise with these people's hard-earned money.

Why are you so hung up on the cost of something people are willing to pay for?

Just because YOU call it a scam, does not mean it is one.

A scam would be if he was endorsing a bible and it turned out to not be a real bible. That is a scam, not endorsing a real bible that people can either buy or not buy it's up to them.

He is getting paid as is the norm when Trump endorses anything.

Instead, it uses Trump's "name, likeness and image under paid license" through his licensing company, meaning Trump gets a cut of the Bible's profits -- a familiar arrangement for the former president.

The new product, however, is "not political" and "has nothing to do with any political campaign," according to the website, and its proceeds don't go to the 2024 Trump campaign.

I looked that up. The information doesn't say that Trumps name is on it. What is on the cover is 'God Bless the USA'. And inside are copies of the founding documents. There isn't anything that says his name is anywhere on the bible. Do you have other information saying it is? Bible Info From NPR

and he's advertising it ,

Yep.

he is getting money from the sale of the Bible.... Fact.

The link at (left wing) NPR that I gave said that no profits from the sale of the book go to Trumps re-election campaign. It also says that the bible is using Trump's name, likeness and image "under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC. So money was exchanged for the license to use Trumps name, likeness and image.

So his company is making some money on the bibles because they are using his image. So what? Obama and Clinton make money giving speeches, that's using their images to make money. What's the difference?

If people want to pay 60 dollars that is on them.

If you are OK with a presidential candidate endorsing a 60 dollar bible that is your right.

Equally I and others can find it inappropriate and tasteless.

I would be as well asking why are you so hung up on defending it. Discussing things is kind of the point of this site.

Why do you have a problem with a business man making money?

How does this affect you in any way shape or form? And because it doesn't why do you care? Is it because he is making money and you are sitting on your ass all day complaining bout him making money on a business venture that you can't be a part of?

You didn't answer my question.

People want a bible. They pay for a bible. They get a bible.

How is that a scam?

If Trump makes money by selling something via his image .. how is that any different than Obama and Clinton making money using their images at speeches and pulling in a pile of $$ from schleps that want to see them?

Where is the scam? Everyone is getting what they want.

You thought it your duty to chime in on this thread that is about people being upset that Trump is endorsing a bible.

If you had nothing to say on the matter you would have just left it alone and moved right on along. But, obviously, you could not resist the urge to be upset about Trump doing something

Because using anything religion-related is an attempt at indoctrination of believers into manipulating them into thinking of him as something he is not. That is a scam.
