Between the first time AIDS was readily identified through 2021, the disease is estimated to have caused at least 40 million deaths worldwide

Again, would be interesting to know how old you are. Boomers were not sheltered and not sure where you got that. Neither was Gen X. Things were earned not given.

When you pan out, look at the bigger picture, both generations were fairly privileged. Boomers gained the windfall from WWII.

They were able to dream. It was supposed to be given to the next generations and I am tired of hearing the boomer blame. They built families post WW2 and the Boomers came from that. Work hard. Innovation. Discovery. Trial and error. Jobs. Lifetime work even if at a factory you could live a good life. A vacation a year. Nothing fancy. Just enjoying life.

Gen X was then handed the reins. In many cases kept the family home or business even if it was not exactly what they wanted. You could have generational wealth. No one owed them anything and you could be proud of what you had.

The Millennials took that away. Overextended. Living outside your means. It went from keeping up with the Joneses to keeping up with the Kardashians. Kids actually think they can grow up to be social influencers.. We went from engineering jobs to Only Fans as a choice.

Now you have an entitled and privileged Generation X who want to blame not work. It is the fault of others not them. Now, not all of them but, to me, the entitlement is overwhelming. Why do I have to work to live? FFS. Yes, it is hard but it was not like that 4 years ago and they should vote appropriately.

In only 2 generations we went from being proud of who we were, did not matter the color, to saying anyone white is privileged and anyone of color is oppressed and being proud of yourself or family is racist, misogynistic and xenophobic. Thank you Obama and the rest of the Progressives but we as a country allowed it to happen.

Post WWII generations have stood on the shoulders of what prior generations suffered, sacrificed and built which made life very easy for us by comparison. The term "teenager" wasn't even coined until the 40s - 50s era. There was no such recognized liminal age period before that. You transitioned from childhood to adulthood. The boomer generation was the Hippie generation and I remember my grandfather complaining about how "entitled" and "spoiled" they were. In essence, we've all been entitled post Depression, post WWII. And if you want to get really honest, Americans have been extremely entitled and privileged compared to the rest of the world.

You're a boomer yet, you've never been through a global pandemic before. You didn't go through a world war and you also missed the Great Depression.

A collapse isn't a grande finale of an end. It represents the end of one era or cycle and the beginning of a new one. Humans have been through several.

That pandemic ended up being weak sauce, but all those things didn't stop anything. Many of the things that cause those slowdowns are not in place today. For example, the housing market crash of 2008 was devastating and here we are today with everything well past the heights before 2008. What caused that crash was liberal congress pushed that everyone should own a house by right and not income, so they offered subprime loans and interest-only payment loans. Interest rates went up, housing value dropped a little and it started an avalanche of people just walking away as they were upside down with zero equity in their house. This just made it worse and we had the crash. Today you can't get a subprime loan and you need to go through a lot of fundamental steps to prove you can afford the house.

Just another cycle that doesn't mean it is repeatable.

I already asked you what is it going to be and on what timeline?

The pandemic was "weak sauce"? That's a pretty bold statement since the health ramifications alone (from the illness and especially from the vaccine) may cause long-term devastating socioeconomic consequences lasting decades possibly even centuries into the future.

2008 should have resulted in a total banking collapse but it didn't because there was a massive bailout on taxpayers' backs. The can was kicked down the road as usual. ATM we're going through a housing shortage along with soaring home prices which the pandemic, in addition to inflation, is directly responsible for.

The thing is, cycles do tend to repeat. That's why they're called "cycles".

I already answered your question about a "timeline". Maybe, as another member here pointed out, there's an issue with comprehension.

It would depend on whether or not the vaccines damage the genome. They claim the vaccines don't alter DNA but they make a lot of claims that aren't true.

The vaccine is not as bad as the actual virus, but both have spike protein.

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest you believe this considering you also believe Harvey Weinstein is innocent, there are no biolabs in Ukraine and I'm a Gen Z liberal male.

Love how you twist my words...

With Harvey, I said he used women with his power and influence, but that isn't a crime. Those women were not in his hotel room, or bedroom as some innocent. He was a POS, but so is most of Hollywood and so he was their sacrificial lamb when @metoo came along.

We both know the US helped refurbish 20+ biolabs so what are you talking about? Level 2 biolabs are labs every country needs mainly for livestock control, but that is a far cry from suggesting military weapon biolabs.

I don't think you are liberal, who knows what gender, don't care, are you under 30...yep...

I remember working in the 80s for 3.50 an hour, after taxes that is 6000 per year, and my rent was 350 a month or 4200 per year. There were a lot of days of mac&cheese instant, peanut butter sandwiches etc, and the work was hard ass work.

Oh we have it so hard today...lol geez

DJT down to 26.75, a little over 14.5 percent loss today.
35 percent over last 5 days. One of those was a holiday.
So I guess it could be worse.

I don't know why, but over the last several discussions, I'm continually informed that I'm speaking to boomers. Then I get asked how old I am which I don't respond to because to be totally honest, I don't give a damn about generational warfare. Pointing fingers of blame over who's entitled who isn't, what generation had this, which generation did what...

It's more divisive BS to keep us bickering & distracted from focusing on the real issues. If we're on the trajectory that I think we are, none of that petty garbage is going to matter. People will have to learn to put those differences aside real quick, start getting along and start cooperating with each other because it will be a matter of survival for most.

No #. Now rent for a #box in LA is 4200. A bedroom in an average urban area is 2500.

If you did not care about generational warfare you would not bring it up. You pointed out privilege not anyone else. Accused some of it.

What are you afraid of telling your age? It makes no difference but in conversation it does.

If you are in business, and you are going into a meeting,or sports, or sales, or just about anything you want to know the demographic. Same thing in a debate because inherently a persons age or upbringing will give you a profile 97% of the time that defines who they are.

Why does nothing get accomplished? Because people bitch and do not get to know each other before debate.

I'm not the one who brings it up. I've never asked anyone their age or gender, race or any other physical descriptors in these discussions because I don't care.
