It hit here hard enough to knock out power at 1am. I just got back from cooking a pot of coffee on my neighbor's generator. I'm not Spartacus after all.
Zero business open. I traveled about 20 miles locally, inc a Wawa and chain gas stations, all are closed. Only places open are big truck stops. I have plenty of gas, still checking out gas stations which looked open with cars at the pumps, but they were just parked there, waiting for them to open eventually.
I've seen deflated hurricane's eye wall before as a kid, but never experienced real wind like this. My 100ft palm was bent upside down like a ?, the energy contained in the trunk must be insane. I slept right under it. Someone could jet ski down the street in the flooded swales, but not me....I'm too old.

I wish I would have known that. I just finished listening to his speech in Aurora. I imagine the first priority is to deport the dangerous illegal aliens that have invaded. They are not just in Aurora. Nothing like the staff at Nordstroms being threatened with a machete.
But what about the others? Then there is the issue of homeless illegals and the women with children begging on street corners. When the weather turns they set up camps under the over passes. None of this is safe.
