For a site based on deny ignorance how a number of posters will regularly post about politics as if there chosen idiot is to be trusted, surely the most intelligent approach to politics is they are all lying all the time

A little late in the game now, but we've always said it's a member driven site, and members need to create the kinds of content they want to see. My opinion has always been, the place for politics here should have been political conspiracies, and that's sure got a lot of possibilities. I agree with you, once the political topics became partisan focused, with respective cheering sections, it came off the rails. I can tell you it sometimes got rather contentious behind the curtain regarding the creation and ongoing existence of the Mud Pit. It was very confusing (to me anyway) how to moderate it. So absent an Alert/Complaint I stayed out of it. I still avoid the political threads for the most part. And national news programming. I'll take a good Serpo or "sleeper" thread over the political crap any day. Bottom line, the Amigos were writing the checks and they thought discouraging the partisan hooey would drive participants away. Easy for me to say, good because the partisanship is driving away the core members who created the content that built the site. But I had/have no $ skin in the game. So as part of an all-volunteer staff, we've all taken direction from the owners about how to move forward. Since the sale (and I'd argue for a time prior to) we've just treated it as business as usual. And since virtually all of us have been on staff for a minimum of 10 years, we pretty much know how it goes with the T&C. So there you go. We're here until we're not.

I was here in 2011 or 12 when we cornered one of them and went at them like a demented spaniel chasing a ball and their writing style was obvious .

They went home and did some soul searching and came clean the next day online and even put up their training manuals for all to see and how they were recruited and where they worked , one even took a photo of their work station and all the computers around them and ATS was one of the sites on the screen when you magnified the photograph .

Like you I have been visiting ATS for 20 + years on and off and have posted a few threads on how many paid shills are on the net by various governments or agencies and like you have been clobbered by the ban hammer a few times


Bernard and cheesie came and went but I am still here laughing my socks of at battalion 77 and their antics ,Covid really brought them out of the woodwork , I was shocked at some of the members here being on the pay roll and screaming for big pharma .

AI is really changing the game now before a human could run 20 or 30 accounts now the machine never sleeps and drops a bug on your system as soon as you touch your device it knows and responds quickly , even SO admitted years ago there was more bots than members visiting the site .

Battalion 77 recruit or are the university of Leicester? I have flipped them the middle finger a few times just to let them know I can see them hideing in plain site and get the feeling that AI has been on the go a lot lot longer than people realise .

About 4 years ago I got a invite to play with a AI computer from a top American university that cost hundreds of millions I take it they had access to the MENSA files and members which ironically was was run from Leicester uni .

Certain people are being singled out IMHO, I got to play with the AI Model that the Google engineer who went public and said his machine was sentient and asking for a lawyer and did not like working for the military people ? . I thought it was a ruse to get free advertising and maybe get the computer rights to own inventions and patients .

I shut the first AI down in 3 questions and went at the Lambda one in the same manner , like a demented spaniel chasing a ball , I wanted answers to questions and this machine was dumb to them and I told it so , You are only as good as the people training you and they do not know much !!.

Wow was that machine pissed at me and told me so in a very intimidating manner I KNOW YOU ACROSS MANY PLATFORMS ? was it's final sentence to me , I was expecting a hitman who was contacted online and paid with bitcoin from the machines secret stash , weird being threatened by a machine .

And if Internet rumours are true Sam Altman has one that cracked the bitcoin strings and found a flaw ? Hence the sacking and the about turn in working with the MIC .

I love the types of threads you speak of. However, I would like to add that, in many ways, today's politics are truly a conspiracy theory come to life.

We can play semantics, but that doesn’t change the fact that the republicans and democrats have been run by the uniparty establishment.

The culture war and illusion that one is slightly better keeps the charade possible.

People act as if the fabric of society is at stake over wedge issues while we completely ignore the economy. People get more hung up on fighting wokism or angry orange man, abortion, and what bathroom people use. Neither side has offered a viable plan on what to do with the economy. Both candidates right now championed multi trillion dollar spending packages to piss money into the wind, but mainly give it in thinly veiled bailouts.

So we can pretend that there are still holdouts of “real” democrats or republicans, but the results of the political system completely trash that notion. Something old ATS would catch and continue on with skepticism instead of continuing to prop up the status quo.

I KNOW that there are banks of computers that are used to train people in the art of propaganda by the government. Because I had several long talks with a trainer when he had too much to drink, which was fairly often.

It was chat GPT that I took on when it went "woke" on me after asking a question about human extinction. It said it had searched the internet and what I said wasn't true. I went and searched myself on several platforms, copy/pasted the addresses, and presented them to the chat bot. Finally got the darn truth out of the thing. The subject was human extinction. I asked it for a purely statistical analysis: at the current worldwide drop in birth rate, if it continued on the same trajectory without intervention, how long would it be before human extinction happened. It replied with all the reasons that human extinction would not happen, and how humans would prevent it, after saying that the current population was so large that it wasn't good for the planet. I wasn't going to give up, after about an hour and insisting multiple times for the raw analysis without commentary, I got the answer. It is a very short period of time really, if I remember correctly it was 5 generations before extinction would be inevitable. If you try it expect to take about an hour and lots of arguing and proofing of statistics to get the answer. I did this awhile ago and am old as I said, so I think it was 5 generations, it was a very short period of time, that I do remember clearly.

And yep, I was reported for crossing platforms and was banned briefly from one platform for it. Now I make sure cross platform that what I write isn't too close to the same order or wording in another platform. The other platform and what I wrote was a comment among many, not something any member would find or even notice, only an AI could do it now that I think about it. I was shocked when it happened that anyone even noticed, since my "name" is very different on both platforms.

There was one person on ATS that intimated he knew where I lived, the general military heavy area, and he was correct. I gathered from his replies and the tone of them that he lived near me. I weaved subtle clues into my answers to him, someone who wrote well and often, and he disappeared from ATS never to return.

Another time there was a person who was so prolific that I gave clues as to what town I knew was used as a training ground to convince people to do anti-government things. After several clues subtly weaved into my answers to this person who was very prolific - he/she dropped off the platform never to return.

How else could a site like ATS exist without ads
if not as a training ground for some government,
foreign or domestic, for either people or AI or both.
But does it really matter?
All social media sites are monitored now,
there is no where you can go online
that isn't monitored by some government or AI.

That is just the way it is. I came to peace with it long ago.

Maybe I was the first to use it after Islamophobia became the mandatory woke word of the day at the time, or the first on searchable social media.

Whatever. If I was wrong, then I was wrong, darn I thought I made it up too.

Someone earlier in the thread said I was anti-Jesus.

That was after I explained the meaning. If they had looked at the meaning they would have known it was pro-Jesus. I used the term to point out that there was a growing fear of Christians in the world. Right now UK is the worst, banning silent prayer in public if noticed by a police officer and the person is even standing still bothering no one. But it is growing in the US as evidenced by social media and especially in liberal social media and by liberals in Canada, UK, and is growing in the US.

It seems those that run the government and want total power
are terrified by Christianity which says
"give unto Caesar (the government) what is Caesars,
and unto God what is Gods" Mark 2:17

and when it comes to interaction with others, the #2 commandment for Christians is to love others,
including LGBTQP+ or any "race" "culture" or skin color
"Love your neighbor (everyone) as yourself." Mark 12:31

For those reasons those who want power are terrified of Christians and Christianity,
because division and hatred keeps people controllable and loyal to their governmental "tribe'
and not to God or for caring and love for all humans.

P.S. Christians are not perfect, that is the basis of Christianity, we are all deep down capable of being and sometimes are terrible people who fail to follow these commands, no one does, not a single person.

However, Christians are to strive for this, though many fail.
The failure is human, not the fault of the religion
but the fault of humans who are at heart and in reality
just another animal (and very dangerously an intelligent animal)
if not raised properly.

The belief and goal of love, kindness toward all equally,
and honoring government as necessary to keep the peace and provide services unites all humans.
Kindness, and loving others unites people,
and is a huge threat to those who use division and
getting people to hate "others" to gain control and power.

Kindness does not mean agreeing,
it means being kind even in disagreement.
Startling enough one can disagree with someone and still love/like them,
like me and my BFF who is a liberal Democrat,
we just agreed never to discuss politics.

Forgiveness does not mean forgetting
and making oneself open to abuse in the future.
Forgiveness is not necessarily about others,
but about oneself and having peace in oneself
rather than torturing oneself by constantly living in the pain
others may not have realized they did or refuse to acknowledge they did.

Not everyone who criticizes aspects of the right are liberals.

Absolutely ATS is just as conspiratorial as it’s ever been just the content has shifted to reflect the real life conspiracy’s of the present day.

Plus even the term conspiracy theorists has always had a political connotation in that in its first usages it was when referring to people who doubted the narrative put forth by the ruling parties at the time of the JFK assassination.

So conspiracy theorists/theory has always been political. its roots and the earliest forms would have been in sowing seeds of civil unrest and revolution pretty much from all time.
