He wasn't completely innocent either. He did try to get a group of alternate electors approved by state houses. They all refused the white house request and Biden kept his electors in the electorial college. When he saw that his alternate electors couldn't vote he tries to get Mike Pence to recognize Trumps new electors he refused to do so and Biden electors where certified.
What a lot of people fail to realize about January 6th is that, 6 swing States were planning on contesting their electors and submitting evidence of election irregularities, malfeasance, and fraud, that would have triggered two hours of debate for each contest, in an effort to convince Pence to put a short hold on certifying the election, so these States could further investigate the evidence and resolve their issues.
Arizona was successful in contesting their electors, and both chambers went into debate, shortly before the breach.
You can watch Arizona contest their electors and some of the debate that follows, starting around the 15:00 minute mark.
If you have States that want to contest their electors because they weren't chosen lawfully, or for other reasons, it makes sense to have alternate electors at the ready.

Exculpatory evidence.
We all knew it was Nasty Nancy Plastic Pelosi, who orchestrated the whole J6 bs with their own "coup d'état".
Also for the record, President Trump was still the sitting President during the speech. A President can not commit an insurrection, because he's the President.
Democrats committed an false flag insurrection, as cover for their Coup D'état!

Based on what we're hearing, Donald Trump has all the dirt on Nancy Pelosi. Supplied by his intelligence services, while he was president..up until the very last hour.
Which is why he is not attacking her in any way shape or form, during his presidential run.
Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) objected to Alabama's votes.
Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) objected to Florida's votes.
Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) objected to Georgia's votes.
Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) objected to North Carolina's votes.
Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) objected to the votes from North Carolina in addition to votes from South Carolina and Wisconsin. She also stood up and objected citing "massive voter suppression" after Mississippi's votes were announced.
Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) brought up allegations of Russian interference in the election and malfunctioning voting machines when she objected following the announcement of Michigan's votes.
Maxine Waters (D-Calif) rose and said, "I do not wish to debate. I wish to ask 'Is there one United States senator who will join me in this letter of objection?'" after the announcement of Wyoming's votes.

this is a great place to drop this.

if you have not watched this, it's incredibly important to the topic. You can hate Tucker with all your might, and still understand what Steve Sund has to say about the events or Jan 6, as he was in charge of Capitol Police that day, and was fired quickly for some reason.

Will anyone willing to back up Cassidy Hutchinson’s version of events please stand up?
Hutchinson, in case you’ve forgotten, is the former aide to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows who was a surprise witness before the House Democrats’ Jan. 6 kangaroo committee.
In her testimony, she insisted she had heard from someone else at the White House that on Jan. 6, 2021, then-President Donald Trump had tried to grab the wheel of his limousine to go to the Capitol during the incursion.
BUT THE DRIVER TESTIFIED...
“The president was insistent on going to the Capitol,” testified the Secret Service driver, whose name was not released. However, Engel made it plain to Trump that, given no plan for his security was in place, that was impossible.
“It was clear to me he wanted to go to the Capitol. He was not screaming at Mr. Engel,” the driver said.
“He was not screaming at me. Certainly, his voice was raised, but it did not seem to me that he was irate — certainly not, certainly didn’t seem as irritated or agitated as he had on the way to the Ellipse,” the driver added.
As for the alleged lunge for the steering wheel? Yeah, that didn’t happen, said the driver — who was in a position to know about a thing like that.
The head of Donald Trump’s Secret Service detail informed an agitated president on Jan. 6, 2021, that large groups of people had been denied entry to his rally that day because they were carrying prohibited items, the driver of his presidential SUV told congressional investigators, according to a transcript
The testimony is further evidence that Trump was aware of potential security risks in the crowd, even before the mob had breached the Capitol.
The driver told lawmakers that Trump pressed Engel for information about why large swaths of the crowd were not permitted past security magnetometers. Engel responded, according to the driver, by indicating that they had been stopped because they were carrying unspecified items that were prohibited past the security checkpoint.
The driver’s account adds to the body of evidence that captures Trump’s state of mind on Jan. 6, a key aspect of the ongoing federal prosecution of the former president for attempting to subvert the election. Special counsel Jack Smith is attempting to prove that Trump was aware that the crowd he called to Washington presented a danger to the transfer of power, even as he made public statements that initially inflamed the crowd further.
Investigators have contended Trump’s tweet was a trigger for some of the worst moments of violence that day.

she overheard Trump, on the sidelines of his rally, concerned that his crowd looked too small and worrying that the magnetometers were keeping people out. “I overheard the president say something to the effect of … ‘They’re not here to hurt me. Take the F’ing mags away. Let my people in,’” Hutchinson told the panel. “‘They can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the F’ing mags away.’”
