A quote from John Ehrlichman, Assistant to the President for Domestic Affairs under President Richard Nixon:

“You want to know what this [war on drugs] was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying?

We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news.

Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

And then the Nixon Administration pushed the War on Drugs all over the world via treaties. It was all a worldwide ratf##k by Richard Nixon to punish his domestic political enemies.

I don't use MJ myself, but it's good to see this sociopathy that started about 55 years ago is steadily working its way out of the system.

Cali has had it legal for a while and it sucked for many years. Extra state tax, extra city tax meant you were paying over 50% in taxes to get just a little bit. In the mean time, dudes would just drive it to your house with regular business hours. Now that EVERYONE got into the weed business, places are literally throwing it out because regulations on exp date have it expired and there is just too much. Which I guess works out to balance all the theft, thugs just robbing these places blind because they can't use banks to deposit their money.

I never thought I would lived long enough to see this day !

Holy smoke, keep coming...

But as restrictive as we Germans are, it is only a partial legislation.

We can't buy the weed in a shop. You must become member of a club.
And then every ounze (Gramm) you will get there , will be registered.

Hah Hah...
Black market will still be more attractive for many smokers, I suppose.

Having seen the US states slowly start legalizing weed and seeing the consequences it’s obvious it always ends poorly for those states.
Good luck Germany, you’re going to need it.

That would imply Germans could do something funny.

Right. You do know that the US goverment is in cahoots with drug cartels (guaranteed IMO) , so more deaths from lethal overdoses , plus a drugged subdued population as a bonus.
Weed has health benefits, the only reason goverments have made it 'illegal''.
Same with magic mushrooms. If people had easy access to magic mushrooms then Big Pharma sales of 'mental health' drugs would be down considerably. Can't have that

I think this makes sense accept for smoking in public needs to be like tobacco so that I don't have to smell the burn. I personally like smoking weed btw. For me it helps me to focus on things because I am a bit ADD it really helps that too. Low anxiety if you partake in a bud IMO.

/sarc stick to alcohol, tobacco, and sugar, otherwise you might find something the authorities only tried to protect you from /sarc

So this is all weed? Not just the CBD?

Good for Germany, let's hope that spreads trough Europe.
Terpenes are what you want by the way. If you would just learn to love all things good, I think you will make it in this world eventually.

It's not quite sure if the date first of April can be kept.
There is the chance it will be delayed, for sure.

So it seems it could really become the biggest April's fools prank in history, yeah right.

This is absolutely unacceptable man.
Legalizing such a harmful substance will only reinforce to the youth that us older folks are ok with the using of harmful drugs.
This kind of tolerance for Marijuana is not cool....cough cough....man....

You can eliminate the ... cough cough...man by eating it instead.

But, but, it makes white women sleep with black men!!!!! I should hope they are regulating this behaviour, like, no smoking indoors, only smoking in specially designed smoking shelters, now we don't want anybody getting high from passive smoking.

PS. I use CBD every night.

Timing is key here. This lightbulb administration is about to hack the budegts for our social sectors into pieces in order to do the "Zeitenwende" for the MICes, does anyone think the weed might be supposed to help keeping the people dossile and tame in the face of this sellout?

Nah? More hits from the bong it is then!

Yep Minnesota is full legal too. Can carry up to 2oz and you can grow 8 plants at home, 4 flowering plants and 4 non flowering plants.

Peace.

What happens if you have more than 2oz and you grow 10 plants at home, 6 flowering plants and 3 non-flowering plants?

It's not legalized, it's permissive. "Full legal" is erroneous by definition.
