The German government made clear their plan to legalise cannabis a while back but today legislation was passed in the Bundestag to legalise cannabis for personal use , from April 1st Germans will be allowed to legally grow 3 plants for personal use and posses an ounce of weed in public.

One day the British government may find enlightenment.

Yeah man.

I forget it's illegal in Britain these days, and I'd be genuinely shocked if a cop arrested me for personal possession...but I'm more shocked that Germany has gone chilled out, and that I actually want to visit their nation now!

When I attended university, back in the early 1980's, one of my elective classes was a course on science fiction.

Read a lot of the classic sci-fi novels for the first time in that class.

Our course final required each of us to write a sci-fi short story. Almost Every one of those short stories contained a reference to cannabis being legal in the future.

Now, here we are.

(No, my short story did not mention illicit substances of any kind. Still got an "A" for the course!)

This is absolutely unacceptable man.
Legalizing such a harmful substance will only reinforce to the youth that us older folks are ok with the using of harmful drugs.
This kind of tolerance for Marijuana is not cool....cough cough....man....

I'm looking at that date and thinking, how cruel it would be to get all the citizens smoking or carrying and then arrest them all. Happy April fools Germany.

Atlanta pretty much decriminalized it. I've run into guys just smoking there on the sidewalk. No one cares.

Much like the prohibition against alcohol. It makes no sense to criminalize a plant.

/sarc stick to alcohol, tobacco, and sugar, otherwise you might find something the authorities only tried to protect you from /sarc

So this is all weed? Not just the CBD?

Good for Germany, let's hope that spreads trough Europe.

You're underestimating the economic potential this plant had at the time. There were plenty of sensible reasons to criminalize it.
that is if you consider profit sensible reasons...

It should have been done a long time ago in the U.S., but dipping into the CIA's illicit drug operations is a no no. They consider it part of their budget.

I hope it's about both but CBD is a great start.
I know many people that just do not like being any kind of not in control feeling but love the easy comfortable feeling and the addition of a healthy appetite from CBD.
I've never tried any of the stuff......aside from recreational use in somesort of potential reality.

Same deal I get here in CT.

I LOVE it. Hope you all live in Blue States. I understand Red States frown on it. LOL!

Hey man Oklahoma seems to love it.
So much so it kinda got out hand somewhat that they had to put restrictions on the let up of restrictions.
But hey if you're going to be having some restrictive legislation come out.....maybe let people get high I guess...
