Alabama justice who ruled embryos are people says American law should be rooted in the Bible
Tom Parker, chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, expressed his support for the Seven Mountains Mandate, a once-fringe philosophy that calls on evangelical Christians to reshape American law and society based on their beliefs.
From the world of, "Are we really about to do this?
“The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn.
You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus, but actually dislike people who breathe. Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.”

It seems that there is a pretty powerful minority that wants to rip reproduction rights from The People, Under His Eye, and they're not shy about taking aim at contraception, recreational sex and marriage equality.
So that's what happens now? ..attorneys general can just give their states' supreme courts the finger, during an election year?
Who has standing to take this to SCOTUS? The Alabama Supreme Court ruled within their state constitution and laws. Would SCOTUS even take the case? Not right now, I don't think so.
This bill declares that the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution is vested in each human being at all stages of life, including the moment of fertilization, cloning, or other moment at which an individual comes into being.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – As it stands, Missouri judges cannot legally finalize a divorce if a woman is pregnant.
Three other states have similar laws: Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas. While a couple can still file for divorce in Missouri, the court must wait until after a woman gives birth in order to finalize child custody and child support.
When it comes to domestic violence, there’s no exceptions.

Missouri law says men can’t divorce their pregnant wives
Even when the baby isn’t his.
Many such cases.
Are you going to reeeeeeee about that too?
Of course pregnant women are chattel, with no right to autonomy, in the most Jesus-y states! I'm sure Alabama will get on board with that any day now.
