Solaris was half-decent.

Aside from that, i have not seen many Russian movies......or shows, hence the reason i asked if there is anything good surrounding WW2 along the lines of the same kind of stuff we have on offer over here.

Don't worry about propaganda/censorship i certainly won't on my end.

Battleship Potemkin, springs to mind, anything like that only a bit more recent?

The fact of the matter is that human beings require a set of laws and regulations to be in place and upheld if the wish to interact with one another in groups, else anarchy and survival of the fittest become the colour of the day.
