There has been political discussion and debate in Congress concerning the border issue and the need for new legislation to address immigration problems for as long as I can remember. Throughout this time, there have been numerous proposals submitted to Congress for debate and approval but not one has been implemented, regardless of which party is in control of government.

This latest proposal is bipartisan in its creation with Republican Senator James Lankford being one of its creators and sponsors. The other day, the Oklahoma GOP voted to censure and sanction Mr. Langford for his role in creating and supporting this piece of treasonous trash legislation.

CNN

The Oklahoma Republican Party approved a resolution over the weekend condemning and censuring Sen. James Lankford, the state’s senior senator, for his role in the ongoing bipartisan border negotiations in Congress.

Now, I see this headline from, Gateway Pundit

Mitch McConnell Praises Lankford ‘Border Bill’ for its “Immediate Solutions for Crisis at Southern Border” – That Gives $60 Billion to Ukraine and Only $20 Billion to Protect Border and Facilitate Invasion
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is ready to give Joe Biden everything he wants to keep the border open from now until eternity.

McConnell released a statement Sunday night in support of Joe Biden’s border bill that gives three times as much funding to Ukraine – $60 billion – than to border security and invasion support – $20 billion.

And in truth, that $20 billion will not be spent to tighten the border. It will only buy more immigration judges to speed up the judicial processing backlog of 10 years or more to process now. Biden has no intention of securing the border.

From the beginning, this bill legally opens up our southern border to illegal immigration in that it would allow 5,000 illegal crossings per day before the border would be closed to any further entry. 5,000 per day times 7 days a week = 35,000 illegal entries a week. 35,000 illegal entries a week times 52 weeks in the year = 1,820,000 illegal entries every year. Is that any different from what is already happening at our southern border? I don't think so! This bill just legalizes the illegal.

Now, today, I see this.

Now comes the real truth concerning this bill. Brightbart

Border ‘Shutdown’ Rule Is Optional, Loopholed, Temporary Distraction
The much-touted emergency border “shutdown” in the establishment’s Border Act will not be activated unless the president’s homeland security says so, says a clause buried deep in the 280-page bill.

The legal loophole can be seen on page 119:

Whenever the border emergency authority is activated, the Secretary shall have the authority, in the Secretary’s sole and unreviewable discretion, to summarily remove from and prohibit, in whole or in part, entry into the United States of any alien identified in subsection (a)(3) who is subject to such authority in accordance with this subsection.

The loophole converts the supposedly “mandatory” border shutdown into a conditional presidential policy option

How many of you think this president and his crony stooge, Alejandro Mayorkas will implement a border shutdown after 5,000 illegals enter?

We have snakes in the grass of all stripes and colors.

Edit: I don't think we need any new border and immigration legislation. We just need to enforce the legislation already on the books.

So now it's getting angry when people work together?

Oh, noes, A republican worked with an independent and a Democrat on a spending package, that type of cooperation will not be tolerated, especially because a politician we've been told to hate and consider a sellout, Mitch McConnel supports it!

Oh, tell me what to think, Gateway Pundit, because I can't do it on my own!

This post only represents my hatred of Gateway Pundit for profiting of their vitriol reporting and "journalistic integrity"

as I listened to the verbiage of this bill on the radio, and I had to scream at the radio "Why can't the number of accepted illegal entrants be #ing ZERO!?" And if it's opposed by the left, then ask them why they want to allow people to break our immigration laws. Put them on the damn spot. A robust conversation needs to be had about how to fix the asylum laws and immigration laws as a whole, but that's not this. this is dealing with the immediate issue of an open border right now.

how many illegal entry's is OK with you? After you answer that, how many kids being killed by drug overdoses is acceptable. For my $ the answer to both is zero. YMMV

I agree with McConnel, who I think is a great Minority Leader of The Senate.

I've looked over this bill, and I can't find why it's drawing so much criticism.

thehill.com...

Sen. James Lankford (Okla.), the lead GOP architect of the bipartisan Senate border security deal, pushed back on Republican critics, including Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), for rushing to condemn the legislation.

Lankford during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” also responded to the scathing criticism of the legislation by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), who panned the proposal Sunday as the “Border Capitulation Bill” and more bluntly as a “crap-sandwich of a border bill.”

Lankford has told reporters that under the bill, once the daily average of migrants encountered at the border reaches 5,000, President Biden will be forced to shut down the border until the Department of Homeland Security regains operational control

Should it have been 1000? Or is there not even enough allocation for the wall itself? Ukraine and Israel funding?

I think it's just anything Moderate Republican agree with gets immediately crucified by design, to polarize people. . People liked Lankford before he dared to work with Kyrsten Sinema. It's just seems like "far-right uniparty governance or else!"

Like it's not enough raping them all to death in approach.

Biden has all the means to close this border at his disposal but he won't do it. Trump did it by executive order but Pedo Joe has no intention to close the border. His handlers won't let him. We don't need any new legislation to address this immediate issue when all that is needed is to enforce the laws already on the books.

You can't see why it's drawing so much criticism?

More than half of the appropriations are for Ukraine alone.

Keeps the border open full time.

Gives DC absolute jurisdiction.

Just to name a few.....

When it's against the interests of the US and people on both sides? Yeah, that's worth getting angry about.

Oh, noes, A republican worked with an independent and a Democrat on a spending package, that type of cooperation will not be tolerated

A Spending package that does nothing except float money overseas, especially to one specific country that shouldn't get a single penny of ours, and money to not "resolve" a border crisis, but to perpetuate it by way of fine print, stipulations, and "if this, then that" language - essentially doing nothing but aiding illegal border crossers to the tune of 5,000 or less per day and only getting triggered at a higher daily number ***IF*** the Federal Government feels like it? You're correct, this crap will not, and should not, be tolerated in any way.

Oh, tell me what to think, Gateway Pundit, because I can't do it on my own!

You've essentially proven that statement correct by your earlier, and following, ones.

This post only represents my hatred of Gateway Pundit for profiting of their vitriol reporting and "journalistic integrity"

This is the problem of the political back and forth, and confirmation bias. Once you become so helplessly enveloped by bias and lies, an entity or person doing nothing else except..... reading a document..... comes across as hateful vitriol.

I, for one, welcome our future alien invasion and overlords with open arms. Society is doomed.

The bill allows between 4,000 and 8,500 illegals to enter the country each day. The low end 4,000 equals 120,000 each month. The high end 8,500 illegal enter every day that is a staggering 255,000 illegals entering each month. We already have those numbers entering under biden. This bill is bad legislation and should not even get a vote.

it's scary to see the blind partisan ignorance displayed here like this. There are things I can understand that divide us, like the abortion thing. But securing the border and keeping would be terrorists from coming here and setting up shop, just seems like something everyone would want, but for some reason, there are those on the left that would be against breathing air if Trump said he was for it. Wait, I just got an idea.....

Does The Bill say what to do with Migrants already on U.S. ground or waiting just on the other side? How will potentially 10s of thousands be "handled" if The Border is shut down like it says it'll be shut down? 😃

Hard to trust officials that have been lying their way through this. 😃

Working together to screw over everyone else! You're defending a terrible idea. Just because some people that normally do not work together are working together on it does not make it a good idea. But sure let's get caught up in one facet of the deal, in this case three people of differing politics wrote it.

That's Mexico's problem. They are complicit in this invasion. That railroad being used to transport illegals north runs in 2 directions.

Mexican officials are getting rich off of cartel blood money facilitating this invasion. They don't want to stop this, their cash cow.

May be in people's heads.

65,000 migrants dropped off on our streets since September. 65,000 new temporary residents of San Diego County. Some bitching in December about the shelters being above capacity, but nowadays its smoothed out.

With no effect on crime or public safety. Drug overdoses went down (but the cartels can get that is anyway), our violent crime is one of the lowest in the country, and there are so many jobs available, English is optional. And the get 20$ a hour now.

Maybe it's a Califormia Border perspective, and they do flood in, but their massive influx is not leading to the problems people say.

There were 44 homicides and 679 rapes reported in the first half of 2023, compared to 53 and 949 during the same period in 2022.

Our county of 3.3 million (+250,000 undocumented, estimate) had less than 100 homicides countywide in 2023.

Is it different in Arizona amd Texas, because we have got as much as anyone, apart from Eagle Pass, TX, and we are not seeing the increase in things that are supposed to be associated with mass migration. Crime is down, jobs you only need a pulse to get, it's just an expensive cost of living.

I remember Trump closed our border the Sunday after Thanksgiving at our commuter crossing (150k legal crossers a day) and stranded 1/4 of the South Bay in TJ, because that Caravan exploited the Holiday.

A friend of mine coming back from Cancun via the cheaper Volaris Airlines was only able to cross because CBX was still allowing people in.

It actually f*cked over more legal crosses that needed to be back at work on Monday, and wanted to see family in Mexico.

IDK we like melting pot ciunty of 68 locally spoken languages, and you can send them here, because we have jobs for them, or they can take out loans and open a burrito stand. Which we always need more of. Also nail salons, mechanics, gardeners, and generally positive impacts on our community.

I can't speak for other states, but based on my own, the detriment they cause for being let in is in people's heads.

I feel it's more a political device not that is not dissimilar from Jews in 1930s Germany. More useful as leverage than an actual problem.
