Eisenhower warned about this during his famous exit speech yet nobody listened (or forgot). Putting this in R or D context is simply for keeping the feeble-minded distracted

And a shorter version here which includes historically relevant notes contextualizing his warning to Americans.

Wasn't Turnip a Reeeeeeeeepublican?

(apologies, I mistyped).

He used to be a democrat until he realized the DNC is a viper nest of anti constitutional white collar criminals obligated to their off shore accounts versus the interests of the american public.

Now he's a republican.

Rubbish. He's a Trumplican. He refuses to follow the party line and is always paying out on Republicans. His party logo is the RINO.

Well for one, all these wealthy Americans who wanted to escape here:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: If Trump wins, time to move to New Zealand

But also Trump threw spanners into the works of many international cooperative deals that directly affected Australia and New Zealand, like for instance his torpedoing of the TPP, his withdrawal from climate accords, his interference with defence pacts, his outing of intelligence operatives and their operations, and his coddling-up with the long-time enemies of Western nations and disturbing half a century of international détente and stability.

Oh, and all the idiots here who waved Trump flags because they saw something that upset them on the Internet, and who made the virus go out of control, actively spreading it. New Zealanders died because some of them believed Trump's stupid remarks.

Obviously, I can't blame the gullible for their gullibility, but I can blame the person who said those things, who should have known better (because he had qualified and educated advisors), and yet did nothing effective at all to protect a single person, even in his own country. Because like all right-wingers, he knew better than all those 'academics' (not).

Well, we did survive through it all better than you guys.

And your taxpayers money was mostly being funnelled into the disparity between what the country could possibly earn, and what its government overspent.

Imagine what's going to happen when other countries begin to call-in the big debt that Trump ran-up internationally by not paying back what they have borrowed? Everywhere will look like Detroit.

Survive what?

Is this where you push your Covid nonsense or where is there a real point to be made?

I don't care to entertain your fantasies at the moment.

Perhaps try tomorrow?

Every Democrat run major city looks worse than Detroit.
Detroit is Dem run also but it’s nowhere near as bad as say, SF and Chicago.
The Detroit mayor is not as deranged as the other Dem mayors.

Why should I, as an American taxpayer have to foot the bill for all the freeloaders around the world?

Keep crying about Trump, maybe all the Liberals will move there when he gets elected again.

Mitch McConnell Turns Against Border Bill

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the shocking decision to recommend Republicans block the advancement of the Senate pro-migration border bill.

That first procedural vote was set for Wednesday. It is unknown if Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will forge ahead, although that is likely.

McConnell cited the overwhelming number of Senate Republicans planning to vote against the measure either on substance or because they wanted more time, according to Punchbowl News.

Because America could not afford to pay for all the freeloaders in the world. It cannot even pay for its own freeloaders.

You see, capitalism works like this, someone wants something that someone else has, so instead of beating each other to death over it, or sulking in a corner poor and dishevelled, they agree to trade stuff between them. Most of the time, it's fairly good for both parties.

Trump decided that the US should get all the stuff, but shouldn't have to give anything in return, and he ignored mutually accepted agreements that had been part of the deal for ages and ages.

The world reaction to this was that no-one really wanted to give anything to the US, at least not for a good price. But they all still wanted to have the stuff that the other guy had, because that hadn't changed.

So some markets collapsed and while the US bumbled along for a bit on its own, pretty soon people began to realise that Walmart didn't sell anything made in America, and there were a lot of things that America didn't actually have in the first place.

Now Trump wanted to move manufacturing back to America, which he said would fix everything, but he didn't know that you need stuff to manufacture out of. His only real experience in business was selling stuff that the US already had. He had zero experience in manufacturing. So, what happened was, no manufacture actually seriously moved back to America while he was in charge.

Imagine what happens when you have a computer industry but you have no tantalum, or gallium, or lithium. Ditto for say electric cars, mobile phones and many other American industries. Oh, and the oil is running out now, too.

This is why that trade thing is so nice for those who get involved, and not so for those who try and isolate themselves. And that is why the USA went into such a big recession. Because Trump had set it up to do that (not that he particularly understood).
