Supposedly Jordanian F-16s participated, major props Jordan but..... damn the key here is how will Iran respond and if other Middle Eastern countries join them. I'd imagine the US wouldn't move without some knowledge of how the rest of the Middle East will respond.

Doubt it will escalate. Biden needs a war. Best thing to do is not give him one.

Report of fire at US base as two American bases are targeted in northeast Syria.

Reports of fire at US base after Iran-backed militia retaliates
An Iran-backed militia has reportedly retaliated against US strikes by attacking two American bases in northeast Syria, says international correspondent John Sparks.

There are reports of a fire at one of those bases, he adds.

"Retaliations seem to have started, that's one of the big questions - where does this go?

"What are the consequences? That's the big question tonight."

He added: "Clearly, we are at the beginning of a dangerous new phase in this conflict"

I received word U.S. Aircraft is carpet bombing Syria right now, can anyone confirm?

Notice:
The U.S. is carpet bombing Syria right now.

-planes bombing multiple locations in al-Haydriya al-Shabli, and suburbs of Deir al-Zour in eastern Syria.

Multiple civilians deaths including women and children.
-
This is happening now.
-
This will go down in history quickly as an extremely bad decison.

Conducting simultaneous strikes at different sites with precision guided weapons is not "carpet bombing".

Quite the opposite, actually.

If the threads on Israel are any indication, most here don't know the difference.

You're working from an old playbook. Wars don't guarantee re-election these days.

I doubt Iran gives a #. They were given a week's advanced notice to move their most important people and assets out of harm's way. Everyone knows this is just face-saving by Biden so he can say he did something bigger than his little pinprick "attacks" he's ordered up til now. It's carefully designed to avoid seriously hurting Iran, just like our sanctions for the Ukraine war were carefully designed to avoid seriously hurting Putin.

It's all over the news now, confirming it's U.S. Strikes.

So does that mean it isn't U.S. airstrikes?

This won't deter Iran. I hope I'm wrong.

This whole 5-day build-up to this has bugged me too, absolutely telegraphed every move so far.

So what's the Iranian response? the militias will likely hit back over and over

I know I don't think it will either, would not be surprised if there are flare-ups elsewhere related to this..

I mean these attacks against our forces have been going on for a long time. Everyone was holding their breath waiting because it was only a matter of time before our people got killed. We have enough forces in the region that we could have had plans for this situation already in place and started this campaign immediately.

But then we would've actually got some of Iran's top people, and the administration doesn't want to do that.

The liberal love affair with Iran continues. Why is our priority protecting Iran instead of protecting our troops?

And that question has been answered via the Iranian spies in the White House and 6 billion or so dollars.

Absolutely. This administration is Iran's shadow ally. That is why we're bending over backwards to help Iran's economy and to give their forces essentially free reign in the Middle East. That will continue. These token strikes are not a change in policy. Biden is still Iran's wingman just like Obama was.

Well, you don't, obviously. What targets do you know they are striking to prove these "lies"?

Whose side are you on?

Why would YOU automatically believe the Biden Admin is truthful? Keep in mind the Iran spys exposed very recently, and all the seemingly pro-Iran policies? What makes you think it's all the truth? 😀

We are even giving them a heads up that we are striking targets tomorrow and the next day.
