George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Monday that former President Donald Trump defeated the most consequential legal case against him following a decision by Judge Aileen Cannon.

Cannon dismissed the classified documents case Monday by ruling special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland violated the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution. The judge argued the Constitution requires Congress to either pass legislation allowing for a U.S. Attorney General to appoint a special counsel, or for the said individual to be nominated and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Turley said the classified documents case is the most serious of the four indictments handed down against Trump in the past year, making the dismissal a major win for the former president.

“If you were to have one case dismissed, if you had to have a wishlist, this would be it,” Turley said. “I’ve said from the beginning, Florida was the greatest threat to Donald Trump. Here, Smith was relying on established law, and many of the problems we see in the other cases were not as evident here. It didn’t mean there wasn’t a lead pipe synch, it didn’t mean it didn’t have problems, but this is the one that you would want dismissed. And for now, it’s gone.”

Special Counsel JACK SMITH was due to issue a "SMEAR" report against Donald Trump on his way out the door, and eventual trial for conspiracy with Biden/Garland.

But Federal Judge Eileen Cannon BLOCKED IT today.

I have an interesting take on 'leaks'. From now on, why not charge everyone involved so that they flip on each other. Jack Smith has nothing. No one cares except people who watch the view or have TDS. It is very strong in some still.

Others, they are realizing they took the wrong side. They did not try to fix 2024 because he is supposed to be dead. End of story. There was not enough time since Lara took over the GOP and all those swing states knew if they tried it again they were toast.

I am anxiously awaiting books from this past election as I think a lot of what has been discussed will be brought to life as truth. There was no reason for people like Guilani to go thru what he did. None at all.

I hadn't considered that. Biden/Pelosi/Clyburn/Obama didn't plan a big cheat, because they had at least 2 attempts on candidate Trump's life planned and were confident at least one of them would either have killed him, or forced him to quit the race. (Democrats think everyone is scared of their own shadow, like they are.)

A lot will be learned after Jan 20th, when Trump and his team are in place to scour the documents and communications, including the phonecalls and texts that INTEL agencies have stored.
