Attack on US base: A drone attack killed three US service members and wounded more than 20 at an outpost in Jordan overnight, marking the first time US troops have been killed by enemy fire in the Mideast since the start of the Gaza war.

Here is the current response from the POTUS

Biden blames Iran-backed militant groups for the death of US service members ...

... "Today, America’s heart is heavy," Biden said in a statement Sunday. "Last night, three U.S. service members were killed—and many wounded—during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border."
"While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq,” Biden continued.

Biden vowed the US “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing.”

He called the three fallen service members “patriots,” praising their bravery and offering his grief, calling it a “despicable and wholly unjust attack.”

“Together, we will keep the sacred obligation we bear to their families. We will strive to be worthy of their honor and valor. We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism,” the president said.

Multiple different sources on either side of the political spectrum are reporting the same event so information should be readily available to those who want to research it.

Granted, TCT couldn't just report the facts , "Apparently, there are drones capable of outwitting the THAAD defense system, or something." but hey at least they reported it.

TGP has no mention of this event or the reply from the POTUS that could be simply due to the fact that news is still coming to light over this event and for some reason they are taking longer.

In the end, 3 troops died and dozens of people were injured. Initially I have no issue with what the response from the POTUS has been as I think it was firm though measured. Words are easy though so it is going to take time to see if his words are honest.

For a country that allegedly doesn't want a military conflict with the United States they sure seem to be acting more like a country that wants a military conflict with the United States.

Seems an escalation may now be inevitable.

Note the words "all those responsible"

Iran?

Guess we'll see.

Not a stretch to imagine that scenario playing out. To me, it only reinforces the fact that the last President and the current President needed to do a better job on the exit of troops then they did.

The whole area is just a firestorm waiting to happen.
I don't see anything to indicate it is worse or better than its been over the years. Still with every event that takes place you keep waiting for a country to respond in the wrong way.

Biden been around long enough to know.

Wartime President’s almost always got re-elected.

It’s his only prayer to still be the big guy..

I'm sure it's nothing a few terse words and lobbing a couple of cruise missiles into an empty field can't fix.

Shame about all the dead soldiers...but it IS an election year and we don't want to piss off the far left.

You think he should attack Iran?

That would be a worrying escalation.

Except China. He is paper tiger that take money.

He'll keep the fighting proxy wars with militants instead of taking the hard line with Iran like he should. You know if wasn't for all the other crap, it would be really easy to want a republican president right now.

Knowing conflict averse Joe, he will tip-toe around hostile countries feelings and try to play mediator. Try will try to get Israel to cave, and try to restore the USA diplomacy MO.

I'm surprised he hasn't moved the embassy back to Tel Aviv to "calm tensions".

How about reinstating Trumps sanctions on Iran?
Would that sit well with you?

It has been some time since there was an attack inside Jordan. Something like 2018 or so from my recollection. What has been the comment from the Monarch in Jordan?? Are they vowing to support us, or just shaking their heads?

They kill our troops with a $200 drone and we retaliate with a $1,500,000 cruise missile. They blow up a $1,000,000 piece of military hardware with an IED and we blow up a few insurgents with a $20,000 JDAM. Who will run out of money first? Who's gonna win this fight before running out of money?
