Seven hundred thousand? Don't make me laugh. There are just short of 3 million trucks registered in the US, and they're going to get almost three quarters of a million to the border? Please. They couldn't even a fraction of that to go on strike to improve wages and living conditions for truckers. You can't even get two truck drivers to agree what time the sun comes up, let alone lose the money that you're talking about them losing pulling off something like this.

Well, you could replace all those truckers in a month from illegals.......

Just some food for thought.

Do you think that if the convoy got too massive that this could be implemented?

My point was/is that it doesn't require a new emergency. Plenty on the table already that they could easily attach this to.

Look again at the list from Wikipedia. How many deal with commerce, people, contraband andillegality across borders?

While I appreciate your concern over the border, it has been an existing concern since Bush. Clinton, Obama and Biden campaigned on it even.

The issue is this President is constantly promoting illegal crossings. So it contradicts the national emergency act invocation, no?

Farmers in those countries have time when they can protest, while crops are growing or between harvests. Truck drivers that aren't driving don't get paid. And truck drivers that drive for large companies that take trucks where they aren't supposed to go get black listed and won't work for good companies again afterwards. The problem is that truck drivers talk big, but when the time comes to act, they're all talk.

We don't need protesting 18 wheelers. We need STATES and CITIZENS

These participants were quoted as saying, paraphrased, "Come prepared and bring your 'kits.' And make sure they're fully stocked." I don't know about you, but it sounds to me like people have finally had enough.

These kits are likely cases and cases of beers

Except they couldn't. The first time an illegal kills someone, because they aren't used to driving those trucks, that company is going to get hammered. More than one company has been reduced to shambles due to bad accidents, and those were with citizens driving. And I'd be willing to bet the first accident wouldn't take long.

Yes, while also retaining the powers granted by the emergency acts.

You got it.

2019 Lakewood semi crash.

It's already happened Zaph. Even though I agree that it wouldnt likely be a 1:1 replacement, it could still be more than zero.

Regardless, my point is the number of people crossing is astronomical.

It's on pace for the US population to be almost 10% illegals by the end of the year.

The revolution has begun!

And it WILL be broadcast so people stay at home eating crap and watching it on TV while buying the t-shirts, hats and flags.

All too late imo but a great way to round up the truckers and stop them doing their jobs in future to help with the rescource shortage scenario later.

Who do you think are driving these 18 wheelers? The article I referenced above did have some quotes from some of the truckers going to the rallys, to be held in three separate states: Texas, Arizona and California. These participants were quoted as saying, paraphrased, "Come prepared and bring your 'kits.' And make sure they're fully stocked." I don't know about you, but it sounds to me like people have finally had enough.

Screw the regiment then, huh? Lol

I don't know how this will pan out.

But I know how it will be framed.

"Worse than J6!!!"

Unfortunately you are correct. I've been watching this situation and although inspiring to see Texas basically say enough is enough, I'm worried other states won't be as passionate if SHTF.

This approach does not seem that it will accomplish much and is open to possible Federal escalation for insurrection. Armed national guard troops are one thing, they actually have power to inflict the hurt. But the truckers are mostly private and mostly unarmed and only loosely organized. None of them have probably trained together with defensive operations in mind.

That's like juicy ripe fruit just ready for the jackbooted bullies to pick from a tree. They will put Grandpa's and old aunties in choke holds, hog tie them with rifles pointed at their heads and scream very loudly.

They had better coordinate and not through the phones that the entire intelligence community is very likely being ordered to monitor and record en masse yesterday. Meet up at diners, get group leaders, only a couple of things will be written and then destroyed asap after being disseminated to the specific drivers.

I like Texas's idea and Nevada take Arizona should follow suit.

And the Mainstream Media are already churning out their propaganda about it. This was one of the first articles that came up for me in a search about it. I must warn you first that it is full of outright lies and obvious propaganda. Why their choice of title alone is a dead giveaway:

Far-Right Extremists Are Organizing An Armed Convoy To The Texas Border

See, "Far-Right Extremists" is just their ugly and libelous term for ordinary Americans who love their country. That's all I've got to say about the rag that published that story. But, like I said, beware when reading it or enjoy it for the chuckles it provides.

The organziers of this event have even set up a website for people to follow the action:

Take Our Border Back

I would say more about the situation, but since the Supreme Court issued their ruling on June 23rd, 2022, "The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen," at least we as citizens can now legally protects ourselves when we're away from home. Put that in your peace pipe and smoke it.

Armed? Are there documented pictures or proof in the trucker pouding to show this? Where is the evidence? Likely the lefts are going to stage some sort of hoax like the Russian dossier on Trump...

Truckers use their ‘arms’ to steer. 18 wheelers would be identified as deadly weapons. Such goes the ways of the propaganda mechanisms.

Actually, the wife checked on her computer, no Yahoo on hers either, but her google browser is not through yahoo. She looked it up, Yahoo is out in parts of Michigan, Ohio, and a few other states from what people are saying. It should be up and running by tomorrow. I could take yahoo off the default browser in firefox if I wanted to and switch it to google, but it might mess up some stuff I have bookmarked if I do. All of the bookmarks I can't open seem to be tied to Yahoo somehow in the top line of the browser. I suppose I searched for them using Yahoo and it is in the link. I guess it should be up and running tomorrow from what she said.
