Words are worth 13x more than sexual abuse

The figure included $18.3 million in compensatory damages and $65 million in punitive damages, CNN reported.

This is what was delivered today by the jury in the NYC E. Jean v Trump defamation trial. Quite a hefty sum. Remarkably different from the previous lawsuit against Trump:

In a separate suit, she secured a jury determination in May of last year that he had sexually abused and defamed her, with a jury awarding her nearly $5 million, including $3 million for defamatory statements he made after leaving office.

Taking this all at face value, the precedent is very clear. Hurt feelings are far more valuable than hurt bodies.

This isn't all without some sort of precedent however.

Today a jury reached a verdict in the Alex Jones case and ordered the conservative author and TV host to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to the Sandy Hook families for something he said in 2014.

Jones was ordered to pay $965 million to the families. Good Lord!

Jones allegedly owes $229 million to just the first three plaintiffs, all family members of Sandy Hook victims.

Is this justice in our communities estimation? Or is it just as long as the political ideologies are supported?

I believe they used the word 'malice' and this feelz has a lot of weight with a judge and jury.

But when it comes to the Trump case where he got sued for 83 million for sexually abusing and defaming that women… all I got to say is, next president of the United States!

You guys must be so proud.

I highly doubt DJT can afford to pay this much.

I hope he can get structured settlement, send her $100 a month instead of lump sum because why should he make it easy. Even 10 years would still give her more than enough to pretend she is an accomplished aristocrat.
