I totally expect a civil war coming out of the states in your OP. All my prepper stuff for the Chinese invasion will come in handy.

Bring it tough guy...if you think it will solve anything.

Texas is the one who has to deal with the immigration influx. No surprise they’re trying to stop the illegal portion of immigration. To my knowledge the legal entries are still open.

no social security and medicare

It's my understanding that when someone is drawing their Social Security, if they move to a foreign country, they are still entitled to receive it. It's their money after all - they paid it in. If Texas left the Union, wouldn't that, in essence make them a foreign country? So, how would it be any different? Not trying to be snarky or anything, just pointing it out.

Son, say what you will but I swore an oath to protect the Constitution and this Country over 35 years ago. I'm prepared to die for it now, just like back then.

Texas is the second largest economy in the US. They would be in the top ten economies of the world if they were independent.

They’re far from a welfare state.

I didn't take it snarky, and I've learned something. There are countries that you can get it in. There are countries you cannot. It states that if you do get it, you still have to pay income tax of 35% on it. If a country has some sort of tax treaty with the U.S. you will pay a little less. Of course Medicare is not available.

There is a pdf about it that can be downloaded here

I was not sure on the federal funding for Texas.

Federal dollars account for one-third of the Texas state budget. Federal expenditures in Texas are one and a half times as much as what our state and local government revenues pay for, combined. Federal dollars account for one-third of the Texas state budget and one-tenth of preK-12 investments.

Federal aid is especially critical in state health and human services (almost 60 percent federally funded overall) and nutrition benefits (almost 100 percent federally funded).

Outside the state budget, Social Security and Medicare provide near-universal income support and access to health care for Texas seniors, while federal tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit are powerful anti-poverty tools.

After Hurricane Harvey the state received over 28 billion in funds.

That's good to know. So, can you please tell me when you're going to go and citizen arrest President Biden? I really want to see that. (All enemies, foreign and domestic....)

Thanks for that information! I'd be willing to bet that countries where you could'nt get your Social Security are ones I wouldn't want to live in.

Yes, looking at the list in the pdf, not likely, unless you went to live with relatives there or something.

But it appears the government does not have to pay them out to anything considered a hostile nation or for whatever reason.

look son, you are nothing but a set of poorly assembled words on a screen. Whatever you are in real life is super. Here, you aren't. Many of us took the same oath, and many of us understand what it means, and that it doesn't expire when you get your DD214.

Tell your boyfirends on "The View Chat" how much of a tough guy you are, nobody here cares. You have to make good points and argue with facts here. TTFN Son.

The Supreme Court is still operating like it did back in the days before Internet, and there's no leadership attempting to modernize their systems and processes.

I don't think any state will secede from the union...

They like the govt. subsidies to much.
Where do you think the government gets its money? Texans may feel they do an unfair share of the earning and paying of taxes.

However, Texas is partially responsible for the people in the states that do more spending and less earning than Texas though. They brought a lot of people into this country to work, then made it a little hostile for them so they'd all move north.

They may think "we'll do better without the large, tax-sponging northern cities" but they are partially responsible and ought to help pay for people who require government support.

President Biden is enveloped by a dense mental fog during the hours he's awake. The orders originate with others in his administration and Biden signs off on them.

If we compare it to how much the federal government gets in revenue from the citizens and companies there though the numbers don’t look as big.

I’m pretty sure they’re middle of the pack for the ratio they take vs what they contribute.

California also gets a bunch of federal money, but it’s the biggest economy and contributes the most too.

The OP made mention of civil war. In which I addressed how that would work, and maybe they could clarify.

My view of "civil war" is the most humane/least bloody. Simply remove the leaders causing the problem, as the U.S. Constitution allows.
