Honest question. Why doesn't Texas file a Section 10 form with the Chief of Engineers? If that got approved then their barriers would be compliant with the law.

Maybe someone can help me here but do you virtue signallers here truly believe that there are no criminals among the masses entering your country?

Maybe you think that cartel members/religious extremists/wanted criminals etc will just settle down once they reach their dream destination without any money, home or future?

I mean even the traffickers who take money ( and other incentives) are bad guys. I do not doubt that a great amount of people just being allowed to flood your country are looking for somewhere better, but only an imbecile would clap like a seal and believe there ain't no bad eggs amongst these people.

We need to discuss why your government lets this happen.
Does anyone truly think it's because they love people and want to do good?

Then why don't they love and protect the people who are there legally?

Destroying a country, causing danger and poverty, a strain on health sevices, housing, food, police (safety) doesn't help those illegal invaders, it makes it worse for everyone.

If a story doesn't add up, there is usually more to it.

It isn't about the people flooding in. Nobody in power cares about them. They are pawns to change all western countries in the world deliberately.

If you cared about them, you'd hate it too...unless you love brutal communism. Because that is what's on the horizon all around the globe.
And trust me, when it is implemented and you loose your safe spaces, you will be the first ones crying. But then it will be too late.

Good. They should also dig a moat. Fill it with water. And alligators. And those electric eel things! Hopefully the alligators don't eat the eels...

if you watch them, they don't give a rats ass about these people. They are just told what talking points to use. And even when they don't add up, they aren't smart enough to think this through, so they get angry and scamper off.

If it wasn't destroying the country, it would be comical, but it is destroying the country, and so many innocent people are being hurt. The very one's they lie and say they care about. I can only hope karma does them a solid.

It is the right always talking about a shooting war or civil war 2.0

Then you also mis read mine. We are trying our best to avoid that very thing, but the Left keeps pushing, just like that little kid.

The Left seems to actually want things to get violent and then can point and scream "See ! See ! We told you they were Extremists ! "

Usual tactic of "accuse the other side of what you are doing "

Hardly worth your time, David. Hypocritical finger-pointing is all they've got. They know full well they are the ones who have used violence and death to get their way since nearly the inception of the democrat party. If they do it, no harm done, but if YOU DO IT...

Umm did something else happen, because the words I heard said all they did was vacate the injunction blocking the fed from removing the wire, nothing else.

They didnt tell texas what they could or couldnt do so to the nut case saying "shoot dem on sight" no they dont have legal authority to do that and anyone that gives that order should be arrested and sent to Leavenworth.

Come try it.

If the federal government refuses to do it's Constitutionally obligated duty, then Texas has that legal obligation to do it itself.

How about we start arresting feds at airports and highway checkpoints?

I like how some are calling people idiots and saying brilliant things about shooting people or bombing people with b52s. And when I say I like it I mean it's scary how out of touch you people are. What do you think would happen if there was a massacre of us citizens at the boarder conducted by the US government in order to keep non us citizens flowing over the border illegally ? You guys seem to want a REAL insurrection. Or maybe you're just idiots.

“Governor Abbott Issues Statement On Texas’ Constitutional Right To Self-Defense“

Link to the document is contained in the first sentence.

gov.texas.gov...

"The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now," reads the statement. "President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary."

Good for him!

If Biden can defy rulings from the Supreme Court why can't Abbot?

Um, are you utterly stupid? Biden heads one of the equal three branches of US Federal government. Abbot has absolutely no Federal powers and must bow to federal authority.

Your insult is not appreciated in any way, shape or form. I'm on ATS to learn and be part of the team, not part of the problem.

I hope your nose falls off.

you are an absolute infantile moron to believe any officer in the United States Air Force is going to follow the command to deploy a B-52 to drop explosives on American citizens within one of the most powerful of the fifty states. Or for that matter to believe that command would ever even be given over a border dispute. See how long any Federal agency building in the South remains in Federal custody if that went down. It would virtually be grounds to mobilize multiple state guards and seize all federal property within every state.

The Federal government could easily be paralyzed overnight just from the state government response, let alone the mass resignations of sworn officers who will switch to their respective states governments. The truth of the matter is, the Federal government is absolutely impotent in this fictional fantasy of an grade schooler you conjured up.

At least it tells us how you would respond into murdering your own citizens without a second thought. You would not happen to be Ukrainian would you?

DeSantis weights in..

If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would have never joined the union when it did.

TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it.

FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets.

As you said, try it. A county sheriff or local cop who arrests a fed would face serious federal charges and likely spend the rest of their life in federal prison. They know this. Federal marshals enforce federal court orders. They can ask for assistance from other federal LE agencies. State LEOs have absolutely no authority after the SCOTUS order. They have no protection.

I'd like to see Texas start deputizing anyone that wants to assist their efforts.

If they demonstrate legal protection from the Feds, I bet they could get thousands down there to help.

They need to show they're not going to let the FBI raid people's families at 4am.

That's awesome. It will give the Federal Marshalls authority to incarcerate more idiots. Are you people that ignorant of the law? Abbott and Texas LEO/citizens have absolutely to authority here. That's what SCOTUS told them. They can likely be shot on sight for resisting federal authority.

It would only take one trigger happy idiot to light this powder keg.

You don't seem to realize that people are on edge and it wouldn't take much to turn this into a shooting war.

Or maybe you do and just want to see Conservatives dying. You sure seem to relish the idea of "shot on sight". I can promise you one thing, if Biden goes in with force, this is not going to turn out the way you hope.

I don't want to see anyone die. I want to see Abbott understand that he leads a state in the United States and can't do as he pleases. And I want Texas LEOs to understand that as well. I hope no one dies but if some Texas LEOs lose their careers or serve hard time because of their ignorance of civics and following the governor's directives, I'm good with that.

Perhaps. But if you read the interviews with pilots scrambled on 9/11 you will know that they absolutely were prepared to shoot down civilian aircraft and even obvious airliners. So yes, Air Force officers do follow orders. They rely on command authority to interpret context.

I was of course being flip when I suggested we might use B-52s against Texas. But I hope Biden has the backbone to stand firm against Abbott to enforce the SCOTUS order he now has in his hand. Sadly, I doubt he will use the resources he has at his disposal and this is likely the gambit Abbott is playing. Personally I'd probably direct the federal marshals to arrest Abbott and any Texas LEO that interferes with removing all razor wire that Texas placed on the border.
