But how does the US sticking it's nose into previous conflicts change the reality of what's going on currently?

It doesn't change anything it's just an example of America's "do as I say not as I do" mentality , America and Israel are allowed to act with impunity but if an un-authorized country carries out the same actions somehow that's defined as terrorism.

Terrorism is as terrorism does and it seems our side does quite a lot of it.

Arab commandos are terrorists and Israeli commandos are freedom fighters

6 billion dollars buys a lot of rockets and guns.

The US is absolutely arming both sides. Why do you think Obama and Biden appointed Iranian spies to the State department and DOD?

It wasn't on accident.

I dont quite understand the OP , it just sound quite biased frankly. Iran is directly involved to attack ship going to Israel , surveillance vessel in the Red Sea, controlled by Iran's paramilitary forces, is passing targeting information along to the Houthis, The ship Behshad, has been at anchor in the middle of the Red Sea since July 2021.

White House says Tehran is 'deeply involved' in Houthi attacks on vessels in the Red Sea: Iranian spy ship is accused of providing targeting data

It still there now , says marinetrafic

Also Iranians in ground

Sources: Iranian, Hezbollah Commanders Help Direct Houthi Attacks in Yemen

Iran armed also hamas and launched massive missile salvo plus other horrible actions...

So theres quite a lot armed action against israel from the Iran-Houthis-Hezbollah....it would be both extraordinary and foolish if Israel would not respond .

Of course it does because I'm not cheerleading for Israel , the OP is quite simple to understand , Israel have bombed Iran possibly as retaliation for Iran bombing Mossad's spy headquarters in Iraq which will further destabilise the region as it's quite likely Iran will respond , countries taking pot shots at each other is never a good thing but with Israel attacking its neighbours with impunity others now feel less constrained.

Netanyahu is losing support at home and abroad as it becomes clear the part he and his government played in the "failures" that led to the Oct 7th attack , he also seems to be facing a challenge from former Israeli general who is now a Member of the Knesset Gadi Eisenkot who has openly criticised him and his war aims , he also said defeating Hamas is not possible and a ceasefire is the only way to free the remaining hostages.

Gaza has been invaded and thousands of civilians have been killed , the West are arming Israel but somehow it's wrong for anybody to take a stand against the Genocide that is happening , perhaps you could explain the difference.

Maybe if people like you are not so extreme in your views there can be a middle ground here.

BTW I think Iran has Pakistan to worry about now more than anything else.

I dont think Israel or any country should just decide to be a sitting duck when it`s being targeted by multiple entitys. I dont see much special about it that they act . If the Brits would be targeted , i doubt they would be just snipping their afternoon tea just only watching not doing anything..

I think that little spat is over as they restored diplomatic relations and are returning their envoys.

I think if everyone in ME treated Israel like let's say Jordan does including Iran, and they all looked to solve the issues in The West Bank and Gaza there would be zero issues there today. So in my view, I see Israel being the reactionary even if we agree they can also be over the top with that reaction. Now I say they seem over the top because I'm drinking tea 6,000 miles away and I don't have my existence threatened.

Iran's military capability is very limited. We should just wipe out the military. Make them more humble.

The strike happened this morning as Israel's attempts to widen the war continue with both the US and Israel seemingly determined to bring Iran to the party.

Funny guy.

The US and Israel are NOT attempting to widen the war. Iran has ALWAYS been a major player in the Hamas/Israel war. Iran pays for the Hamas terrorists. Iran trains the Hamas terrorists. Iran supplies Hamas terrorists with their weapons. Iran pays for the Houthies and supplies them the weapons they use in terrorist attacks. Iran pays for Hezbollah and their weapons and their attacks on Israel.

To try to claim that the US and Israel are trying to 'widen the war' and are 'determined to bring Iran to the party' is silly. The whole reason anything is happening at all with those players is because of Iran. It's always Iran. The biggest state sponsor of terrorism on the planet.

Yep absolutely , they could solve the issues , if there would be consensus in there , but sadly it to me look`s like there is no
consensus now , the recent attacks made clear they , the Palestinians and their manifesto made quite clear they are not interested about solving the problems by negotions .

I am not fully aware of Israel domestic politics, but my understanding is that the constant threat/violence was the factor that raised Netanyahu to PM, because people want security , so they want to vote a person who is dedicated to securing it. So in theory , if the times would been more peacefull last few decades , it may be that Netanyahu might not be in that position . And if so ? the Palestinians can take some credit that Netanyahu has been in power in past and now.

There is the possibly, the USA is and has been sticking its nose in this mess. Like we did with Iraq and Iran. Israel is now on the war path, bombing anyone and everyone, guess who is going to back them up, when anyone and everyone starts bombing them. Of course it's convenient we already have a base in Iraq.

The US has it's hand in most things, be it directly or indirectly. I was unaware that was the topic.

Listen youre a smart guy . Usually you’re not fooled easily . I always disagree with gor too . USA is fighting a proxy war in Russia . Usa used al qaida , I’m sorry I mean isis , I’m sorry I mean moderate rebels to fight our proxy war across the Middle East including Syria . What he’s saying is youre a hypocrite

I kind of got the vibe, but again, I offered no opinion on the legitimacy or any aspect of the events, only that he was incorrect in his statement that Iran would become involved. They already are. Now if I am incorrect in that, school me. But if not, WT actual F is any of this dialog about?

I'm sure I'm a hypocrite, but not because of this thread.

Any Iranian Military facility, anywhere, is a legitimate target as Iran has already stated their goals and reasons.

A. Kill non-Muslims

B. Kill ALL Jews and remove the Nation of Israel from the face of the Earth.

C. Encourage all Muslims to Kill and Destroy current Civilization to hasten the arrival of the Muslim Savior.

The World should "Hunt", "Find", "Target & Kill" Iranian Leadership. The Citizens of Iran actually love the West.

Iran has responded to the missile strike and US personnel reported injured in attack on Iraqi Ain al Asad air base when it came under rocket fire.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi has vowed to punish Israel for a strike on Saturday that killed five Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Syria on Saturday, state media said.

"The Islamic Republic will not leave the Zionist regime's crimes unanswered," Mr Raisi said in a statement condemning the strike, state broadcaster IRIB said on its website.

Honestly we are being too goddamned restrained. The source of that recent missile attack against the US base in Iraq should have been kinetically annihilated within an hour whether it was within the borders of Iran or not. We should be done with this crap. I don't even care about Israel's problems, they can handle themselves they got nukes. But when Iran is striking American assets in another country from within their borders, that is grounds for direct kinetic retaliation and should be returned in kind ASAP!

How did the Afghan mujahideen get their weapons when Russia invaded ?

So you do not see a difference between Iran supplying weapons used to attack Israel, and the US supplying weapons to a country to defend themselves from an invasion?

Gaza has been invaded and thousands of civilians have been killed , the West are arming Israel but somehow it's wrong for anybody to take a stand against the Genocide that is happening , perhaps you could explain the difference.

Thing is the missiles were fired by Iranian-backed militants inside Iraq so while the US military could and likely did respond to them shooting at Iran wasn't really an option.
