Iran’s Student News Network, a hard-line outlet close to the Guard’s all-volunteer Basij branch, said the men were members of the Revolutionary Guard’s expeditionary Quds Force.
An opposition war monitor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said at least five people were killed in the missile attack that struck while officials from Iran-backed groups were holding a meeting.
Syrian state TV reported that the “Israeli aggression” targeted a residential building in the tightly guarded western Damascus neighborhood of Mazzeh, home to several diplomatic missions. Saturday's strike was close to the embassies of Venezuela and South Africa.

I believe the US armed them. But I am having a hard time understanding how that changes the facts that exist. Perhaps you can explain that part.

Sure , it's OK for the US to arm a proxy in a fight against a common enemy rather than get personally involved but if Iran do it that's wrong.
Not difficult to see the double standard there.

But how does the US sticking it's nose into previous conflicts change the reality of what's going on currently?

It doesn't change anything it's just an example of America's "do as I say not as I do" mentality , America and Israel are allowed to act with impunity but if an un-authorized country carries out the same actions somehow that's defined as terrorism.
Terrorism is as terrorism does and it seems our side does quite a lot of it.

There is the possibly, the USA is and has been sticking its nose in this mess. Like we did with Iraq and Iran. Israel is now on the war path, bombing anyone and everyone, guess who is going to back them up, when anyone and everyone starts bombing them. Of course it's convenient we already have a base in Iraq.

The US has it's hand in most things, be it directly or indirectly. I was unaware that was the topic.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards advisers killed in Israeli strike on Syrian Capital Damascus.

So you do not see a difference between Iran supplying weapons used to attack Israel, and the US supplying weapons to a country to defend themselves from an invasion?

The topic is.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards advisers killed in Israeli strike on Syrian Capital Damascus.
I have a pretty good idea who done that, but I highly doubt anyone has claimed credit for it yet. Until then speculating about who is actually responsible is part of the topic. Unless of course you believe Syria? In addition since we have at least 1 carrier group there supporting Israel, plus a sub, and that's what we know of. The USA is absolutely part of this topic.

Gaza has been invaded and thousands of civilians have been killed , the West are arming Israel but somehow it's wrong for anybody to take a stand against the Genocide that is happening , perhaps you could explain the difference.
No doubt that's true. All of which is in response to the attack by Hamas. Which was aided by weapons and training provided by Iran.
The same things have been going on for decades, if not millennia.edit on 20-1-2024 by IDELB2006 because: (no reason given)
